Just wondering ... according to http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/e22s60h9.aspx, static files
(images, .html, etc) during deployment are supposed to be copied "as
is" to the target deployment folder. I read this to be an automatic
process done by the tool.
In my VS2005 web app, no static files are being copied. Not a huge
deal ... I can just copy the images folder, the styles folder, etc.,
when necessary (which is rarely since it's static content). But is
there something missing here?

Did you actually include these folders and images etc in your solution?
Hope that helps.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of a problem I've been having with
publishing a freebie website.
I'm using a program called WebEasy. Using a very simple site upload as an
example, in this case a picture of a couple of antique chairs. I paste a
single .jpg image, and save the web page file, which gets saved as an .alb
file.
Then, after choosing the "build website" function, the following files are
found in the folder for the website:

I am having problems publishing to IIS. I have my static ip address now nad
have redirected my domain name to it.
Before in using VWD, I just copied the site to IIS and internally useing
localhost/default.aspx this worked. Now I cannot even do that.
Is there a problem using Visual Studio 2005 Standard and IIS 5.1?
When I go to the URL, I get a HTTP 500 - Internal server error. There was a
time when it was displaying the folders...

Is there any way of configuring VS2005's Publish Web Site feature to ignore
certain files? During day to day testing of our web-site, log files are
created that I don't want to deploy to the production server. However,
Publish Web Site copies these over and they have to be manually removed
before deployment. This rules out using FTP to publish because it would
overwrite the auto-generated log files on the live server.
Ideally, I'd to...

I recently upgraded to from Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Visual Studio .NET
2005. In Visual Studio .NET 2003 when I would select 'Build' it would add a
*.dll with the name of the Project to a /bin/ folder in the same directory
as the source code. However, in Visual Studio .NET 2005 when I selected
'Publish Web Site' and selected a target location to place it in, it placed
the following files in it:
All *.aspx files
All *.html files

I've been using the VS2005 Publish utility on one of my projects for
about six months. I have a large site with hundreds of files,
thousands if you include the code behind files.
So I thought I'd use the publish utility and pre-compile my site, but
make it updateable. I thought I would be increasing the access time
for each page. Here is what I've found.
1. If I publish a pre-compiled, updateable version of the site, it
takes 50...

Hi there,
I'm a newbie in .NET Web development. I created a Web Site using VS2005,
then I press Start Debugging (F5), it works fine, I can see my page in

something like http://200.8.119.136/MyVirtualDirectory/MyWebSiteName.aspx as

There are essentially three techniques for publishing Access Data on the Web. The first technique is static, and does not allow for the dynamic addition or modification to the data, There is no direct link to the data, and in order to update it, you must republish. I am referring to the HTML Format. The second format, IDC, is an older, obsolete technology that runs on Microsoft web Servers. IDC has limited functionality, no script language...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
