I recently upgraded a project from VS.NET 2003 to VS 2005 and after
compilation I get the following warning:
'System.Configu ration.Configur ationSettings.A ppSettings' is obsolete: 'This
method is obsolete, it has been replaced by
System.Configur ation!System.Co nfiguration.Con figurationManag er.AppSettings'
However, despite having System.Configur ation namspace in my "using" clauses,
the class ConfigurationMa nager is not available and des not appear in the
intellisense pop-up list.
Is it possible that my app is still using .NET Framework 1.1 libraries

Hi,
make sure you also have reference to System.Configur ation.dll assembly.

Hi all
I have converted a simple project from ASP.NET 1 to 2.0 with the latest
prerelease of Visual Studio 2005. The problem is I can't access internal
members from the code behind. It gives: error CS0122: 'Class' is
inaccessible due to its protection level
This happens only when access members from code behind, not from the other
classes. It compiles OK when making the class and its members public.
However, I don't want to do that....

Hi,
I have converted a project from VS2003 to VS2005, and I have an error
which I can't seem to solve.
I was using Configuration.AppSettings to read values from the
application configuration file, but got a warning that this has now been
replaced by the ConfigurationManager class.
I have tried to implement the ConfigurationManager class, but I am

I have a solution with two projects. Project A is the startup
project, while Project B serves as the project with the data logic.
At run time, the first thing I need to do is write to Project B's
app.config. I've referenced System.configuration.dll within Project
B, and from one of the classes inside Project B's namespace, I'm
trying to use ConfigurationManager to write to its app.config.
Unfortunately, it only finds Project A's...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
