Hi All,
I was trying to update a field in a table, based on the results from a
query.
The table to be updated is tblCustomers and the query is qrySelect. This
query has two parameters, provided by a form.
I created an update query called qryUpdate, which has both tblCustomers and
qrySelect (linked by CustomerID).
And I try to update one...

Hi everybody,
I plan to have a LOT of SQL string in my app. So I need your advice for
this.
Is it a good idea to store all my SQL string in the app.config file?
For a maintenance point of vue it would be easy to access and change any
SQL squery without having to open/edit any forms.

I had occasion tonight to write an installer class that changed
something in a config file tonight (I had never had a need to do it,
but happened upon a "How To" article that explained it in terms of a
web app and decided to try it with a regular app). What I discovered
was that for some reason the .config file is not being copied with...

I have a number of queries which use code for the output of 1 or more
fields. For example
Address:GetAddress(AddressID, True, 60)
Address ID Points to an Address in a table - Address Line1, Line 2, Line 3,
Town, County, Post Code, Country.
The True is whether to include the country and the 60 is the maximum line
length (after which a line...

I've created a custom trace listener which I'd like to initialize in
the web.config file of my application. I noticed that I can use the
initializeData attribute to pass a string to the constructor of my
custom trace listener, but is there any way to pass multiple
parameters to the constructor through the web.config initialization?
For...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
