Hi, thanks for the previous advice on progressbars with showing the
percentage. I would now like to create a less clunky version.
I.e at the moment my progressbar shows 7 separate steps. Some steps can take
seconds to process, but others could take upto 10 minutes (leaving the users
thinking nothing is happening!).
Is there a way to show the progressbar smoothly increasing until the final
step has finished instead of clunking it's way...

I suppose, that my problem is of interest to many readers:
While long time task (i.e reading a remote Pc's WMI), a user should
see either the progress bar or "a DIV history log" such as "Now
enumerate softwares...".
Progress bar must be shown in the same aspx page where
the user started the heavy task. The popups or other pages are not

Hi,
I want to show a progress dialog for long working tasks. The task should
be canceled too. Inspired by the article of Chris Sells "Safe, Simple
Multithreading in Windows Forms, Part 2" I've worked on.
I want to use this progress dialog from any long working task. So I
don't want to have any GUI code inside the code data handling(model).
That's why I fired a progress event in my model which should update the
progress dialog.

Since some controls such as the DataGridView take a long time to update
themselves when performing certain tasks, I have added a StatusStrip with a
ProgressBar on it. While I am updating the controls on the form, I want the
ProgressBar to scroll in marquee mode. However, I cannot seem to get this to
work.
I set the StatusStripLabel to the text I want such as "Updating data..." and
then set the ProgressBar's Style property to Marquee...

Hi All,
I have a Windows Form application that shows a "please wait" form
while I query a database for various information.
I display my form using Show, then run my DB query, then Close the
form at the end.
To make it look even nicer I placed a marquee style Progress Bar on my
form.
It works exactly the same way, but the marquee style progress bar
