Thanks

Hi,
I just read the following in an old NG thread:
"when you use the adapter with a closed connection it will open it, do your
requested database access, and close it immediately. If you use the adapter
with an open connection the connection will continue to be open after the
adapter is done."
My DataLayer makes extensive use of DataAdapters to fill DataSets, and

Okay... I'm using VB.net (2003) and I am accessing an MS Access DB file.
I have two DataAdapters that I use to search for specific info. The two of
them are similar except one is a Date, the other is a String.
Currently they both work as I like and I can get my data as I want. What I'm
intersted in is seeing HOW I do a Global search for both cases. Here are my
two issues:

I create a simple DATAADAPTER in a webservice project. It creates the
UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE commands for me - no problem.
In vS2005 it creates these commands as RESOURCES in the RESX file (i.e.
strings). The problem is whenever I try to test the webservice I get:
System.Resources.MissingManifestResourceException: Could not find any
resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make
sure...

I'm writing an SQL statement where I have to concatenate year, month, and day so I can check for a date range. This is what I have so far:
where YR||MM||DD between 20050701 and 20060630,
but it returns no row. If I comment it out and just use "where YR = 2005", I get lots of rows returned. Why doesn't this work?

I think i have found my problem following an example ive searched for on the
net.
I am using vb.net 2005 express.
What I am looking for is a drag drop from the toolbar that is an
OleDbConnectionOleDbConnection and a OleDbDataAdapter so I can drag and drop
these on the from, and Connect them to an mdb file.
What I think I have come to, is that in 2005 Express you cannot do this.

Greetings,
I saw a post from last year where VS 2005 crashes when editing CSS. I
am wondering if anyone else is having the same issue, if there is a
work around, or a fix (LOL) from Microsoft.
I have installed SP1 on VS2005. That fixed the other crashes, but the
CSS is getting very annoying.
Thank for your comments.

Hello group,
We have recently come up with a problem where SQLServer 2005 differs
from 2000.
We have an application role, which needs to run DDL to alter tables
etc. The documentation for 2005 states quite clearly that application
roles cannot be made members of built in roles like db_owner or
db_ddladmin - which proves to be the case, but this was possible in
2000.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
