Session End event is fired only in the In-Proc Session mode at the end of
the request in which Session.Abandon () is called OR when the Session time
expires. Session End will not be fired when you close the browser.

We have numerous pages that store datasets in Session. Sometimes these are used for one page, sometimes for a few (ex. - search page looks up your info, edit person page edits that info) What i'd like is a way to get rid of these session variables when we no longer need them. We originally trie putting cleanup code in Unload but then realized unload gets called after every page hit, including postbacks, so it wipes out data the active...

I want to clear some specific Session variables when the user closes a page. On my page I have a "return to ..." button which navigates back to the parent page from which it was invoked - under the click event of this button I clear my Session variables. However, how can I capture the fact that the page has been finished with, to clear my session variables, if the user (a) navigates away from the page directly by entering a URL, (b)...

hi all, I have been doing some performance testing of a asp_net website, to be hosted on a shared server .. as far as i understand every page when accessed first time is compiled and loaded in the memory of aspnet_wp , so that would mean more distinct pages more the memory consumed by aspnet_wp, this is good since it would mean serving compiled copy of the page , which is good for speed.. another understanding is that once a page is...

I'm building a complex web-based reservations system. Gathering the user's data requires between 8 and 15 pages (depending on which options they are interested in). I use the "Session" object to store the various elements as the user moves through the pages. Rather than storing the preferences directly in the Session object (e.g. Session("LastName") = ...), I created a class <Serializable()> Public Class ReservationInfo

I have an app that I can't seem to clear out server resources with a button onclick event: The session variables seem to be disappearing properly, but the aspnet_wp.exe process stays where it had been upon running a heavy data query. At a normal standstill it's at about 30-40MB and even after the code below runs, it's up at 110MB. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I store dataset for each page in the session and a reference to the session key is stored in viewstate. But now on which event I should clear the session variables. Because when the page is closed or I navigate to another page the session variables still stays as long as even a single page remains open of that application Regards, Vineet

Hello! I need to process some webpages of a forum which is powered by discuz!. When I login, there are some options about how long to keep the cookies: forever, month, week, et al. If I choose forever, I don't need to login each time, and When I open the internet explorer I can access any pages directly. Some urls of the pages like: http://www.somesite.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=12345&extra=page%3D1

Hi All, The old topic: Session variables desappear. I cannot understand it! And it's driving me crazy!! So most of my aspx pages works just fine, but only 2 pages decide that after they are sent to the client, they clear all the session variables. I even wrote a log file to see before page_load and after page_load, the count of session.keys is 11, and even ajaxed a request from these

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
