Hi All:
I am populating a Data Table with File/Folder information from my drive... I
am then binding this data table to a DataGrid. Due to the size of the
DataGrid data, I use the built in paging. All of this seems to work just
fine. In certain circumstances I need to programically change one of the
data column values from true to false or from false to true... To do this, I
read in each datagriditem in the datagrid.items collection...

Hello All,
When a datagrid in a web form is getting re populated from view state on
post back, it is firing the datagrid Item Created event but the
DataGridItem(e.Item.DataItem is null) in the event arguments has no values.
Is there any way to access and manipulate the row contents in this case ?
Thanks in advance for any insigts in to this.

I know it's dumb ... sometimes frustrating
I want the text and a dropdownlist align with both side of a table cell,
i.e. text align left and dropdownlist align right. I cannot add more cells to
do format because it's in a Datagrid pager area. The html code generated for
pager is one sigle cell with lots of colspan.
I tried to add some html elements in between text and dropdownlist, for
example table iframe and p but I cannot achieve...

Hi.
I already have a datagrid where I'm using paging. I have a stored procedure
that fills a temp table with 200-500 rows and then sends back 10 records at
the time. When I go to page 2 the SP fills the temp table again and returns
rows 10-19. The temp table is dropped after each call to the SP, so it has
to be created and filled every time the user changes page in the datagrid.
My question is this: Would it be more efficient to...

Got a simple ASPX page (.NET v1.1) with a DataGrid displaying a list of
widgets. If the page has a QueryString called WidgetId specific, I need
to automatically mark the specific DataGridItem as selected.
Pretty simple, here's what I did:
for (int i=0; i<dgWidgets.Items.Count; i++)
{
DataGridItem oDataGridItem = dgWidgets.Items;
if (oDataGridItem.Cells.Text == WidgetId)

Hi, all,
I was tangled by the DataGridItem.DataItem property. I tried to invoke
that property to get and display the contents that was bound to the
currently selected row. However, an exception surprised me that it said
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object." How could it happen?
I have set the data source, and called the DataBind().
I looked up the MSDN documents, and just find some inessential
descriptions, and a code...

What is the difference between the DataGridItem's ItemIndex and
DataSetIndex? Aren't they the same thing?
Here is what I found on msdn.
ItemIndex
Gets the index of the DataGridItem object from the Items collection of the
DataGrid control.

I have a dropdown list in a datagrid which I am dynamically adding
items to with JavaScript.
When I try to access the value of the dropdown list on postback, there
is no value. The value is null. I get the feeling I'm supposed to do
something else, but I'm not sure what.
If anyone can help, I would appriciate it. Thanks.
foreach( DataGridItem di in DataGrid1.Items )

I have a nested dropdown inside a datagrid. One for colors one for
sizes. Not all items have colors or sizes, however, so I need to find
a way to detect if the drop down is blank and make the control not
visible. If there is a value then I need to add a choose a size. I am
having no problem with the choose a size being added to the control.
It just does not recognize when the value is null or blank. The
control is still visible.
Dim...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
