In .NET (using VS.NET2002/2003/2005), you cannot make ActiveX controls. The
close counter part in .NET is Win Form User Control, which you can use
inside IE in the similar way as ActiveX control.

application and open socket to a third web as same as ActiveX?

Thanks

David

Hi. Let me explain the setup. I am using Visual Studio .NET to develop a sort of add-in (COM class) for Excel called SQLAddin. It basically queries a SQL server and pulls in data. Now within my Visual Studio Project, the SQLAddin references a compiled COM object built with Visual Studio 6.0 called SQLOld.dll. When I complie the project I get the following files in my \bin directory SQLAddin.dl SQLAddin.pd SQLAddin.tl Interop.SQLOld.dl ...

Good Day All, I am having a problem in Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2. I am hoping someone might have an idea as to what is going on. I have an ActiveX User Control written using Visual Basic 6.0. Using Visual Studio 2005 I add the control to my Toolbox. I then drag the control onto a Panel control that is on a form. That is it. I don't write any code at all. When I run the program I get the following error:

I'm just starting a C++ application which will send data to someone else's program (written as a VB ActiveX COM app) and receive some data back from it. I have the Visual Studio .NET 2003 develoopment environment and I decided to use C++. Just as #import once built the interface for me in the Visual Studio 6.0 compiler, what .NET framework tools might I use to build the interface to the other

Hi, I am trying to add an ActiveX control on my ASP.NET web form (the language for code behind is C#). I have some client-side vbscript to handle events from the html input buttons. In the client-side script, I am calling the ActiveX control object to perform some job. The problem is: when I run the application and click on the button (which fires the event), I get a runtime error: Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Object required:...

Hello! Is it possible to use Visual Studio 2005 or, secondarily, Visual Studio .NET 2003 to create ActiveX controls which may be consumed by VB 6.0 programs, i.e. dealt with on forms in the usual way? If yes, may you provide a hint/link for getting started? Best regards,

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
