Best way to search GridView

I would like to show all the data in a table to users, they can then select
from a drop down list the column they would like to search. Then enter the
criteria they would like to search by. When they hit submit the GridView will
be reloaded but only with the records that match the search criteria.

For example I have a table that has a list of students, the fields in the
table are ID#, First Name, and Last Name. So, say they want to find a student
with the first name of Sam they would select ‘First Name’ from the drop down
and then enter Sam in the text field. When they hit submit the GridView will
be reloaded with only the records with the first name of Sam.

Any recommendations on how I can do this? Thanks in advanced…

Is there a way to make the gridview control search-engine friendly? ie is there a way to make the pager use the querystring instead of session state and javascript? Right now, I'm using a custom-programmed replacement for a gridview that is showing its age and I would like to be able to use a gridview instead.

Hello, I have seen several examples with a dropdownlist filtering the results in a gridview. Is there a way to have information typed in a text box used to filter a gridview? I would like to for example search on a persons first name and any first name that contains the contents of my text box appear in the gridview list.

Dear Experts, I would like to have a listing of my current table records based on certain search criterias to list out in the gridview control. However, I have tried to use the built-in filtering function from the datasource. It is not exactly what I wanted. I have more than 1 search criterias and want to have the filtering based on the condition I set through the controls in the form. This may be a combination of 1 search condition or...

I followed this blog and I was able to utilized the search option for gridview. http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Blogs/BlogDetail.aspx?BlogId=825 Now I created another button "btnClearSearch" and I want to be able to clear the textbox "txtSearch" value (whatever end user typed to do the search, so basically clear the text from the text box) and show all the records from Gridview just like it was when the page first time got loaded. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
