Is there any way to accomplish two way data binding in a Details View with a
DataSet or DataTable as the DataSource.
All I want is to get an updated DataSet or DataTable back from the
DetailsView and then handle my updating manually.

ASP.NET 2.0, VS 2005
I have a gridview with paging enabled, bound to an objectdatasource.
Both were dropped on to the page and configured via the wizards.
Basically working as expected.
The gridview's databind method is apparently called when the page is loaded
as I have no code calling the databind method.
How can I keep the gridview from databinding automatically and control it
myself?

I have created a typed dataset (xsd file) with 2 tables and a relation
between them
in VS2005.
How I do I now bind that dataset to a Gridview??

that the needed info (columns etc.) to create the columns and then bind the
data?
This seems so much more difficult to do an ad-hoc query.

This is a 2 part question:
Part 1:
I am accesing a web service that returns an xml string of user information. I am attempting to load the XML into an XMLDocument, save the document, load it into a dataset, and bind the dataset to a gridview.
I'm not sure if it's neccesary to save the XML file to disk, but I wanted to make sure it was well formed. It is.
No exceptions are caught during the loading and binding process, but my gridview...

In 1.1 you can add a DataSet to your page and bind a TextBox to a column in
a table in the DataSet, how can this be done in 2.0?
I’m using VWD Express. I cannot drag a DataSet to the designer surface, so I

Hi folks,
I've got another problem. Basically, I'm trying to use a nested GridView, however the nexted GridView displays no values (even though in debug I'm getting valid values into my DataSet. It's probably a binding issue somewhere, but I'm not sure where.

I converted an arraylist to a dataset and bound the dataset to a gridview but I cannot change the value of the checkbox in the gridview. I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
