Hello Patrick,

The only thing that I don't like about NUnit ASP is that you need to know
the location of all the controls, for example control A, is in control B,
which sits in a cell of a datagrid which sits on a page. If you have a page
that uses many conrols, that are inside one another it gets difficult to
reference them.

Thanks,

Jon

Look at
SWExplorerAutom ation(http://home.comcast.net/~furmana/SWIEAutomation.htm)
It supports Popup Dialog Windows, Html Dialog Windows and lots more.

Hi, I have been using NUnitAsp for a while now, and have the following
thoughts.

NUnitAsp is extremely useful when doing Test Driven Development (TDD) on the
web layer of an application. It is also useful for integration testing and
regression testing. Scenario: You are developing functionality for a user
with special characteristics , on step 7 in a registration process. It will
take 4 minutes to login and fill out required forms input before you get to
the page you are developing. Either you need to debug what happens when the
user clicks submit, or you would like to ensure that the functionality on
this page was not broken by the last refractoring; you can go to your debug
breakpoint or regression test this with one click.

The fact that NUnitAsp is not exactly a Unit Test tool but an
integration-testing tool makes it slow to run the test all the time (like you
should with Unit Tests). It is slow because the tool acts like a user on the
application, using HTTP requests. A test often include a login and some
navigation, thus it is more time-consuming to run NUnitAsp tests than normal
NUnit Tests.

NUnitAsp does not have the possibility to test on every ASP.NET event by
default, but it is fairly easy to write extensions to support you need.

Hi, I've been using NUnitASP and found that it reaches it's limits very quickly. It has problems with parsing certain pages and raises errors for these when perhaps it shouldn't. Another downside is that it only supports the out of the box Microsoft controls. The people who are producing NUnitASP haven't been able to create another release for almost a year now. I was thinking how an impetus good be given to them to improve it and...

I have turned off the annyomous access on my ASP.Net web application and not set access using NT groups. That works great, except now none of my NUnitASP tests work - everything fails with access denied errors. I have read this article (http://home.iprimus.com.au/lachlanb/nunitasp/nunit.html) and followed the directions in the "Security" section, but was running into some difficulties. I was wondering if anyone had experience passing...

Hi, I want to start unit testing my ASP.NET applications with NUnitAsp. But all my applications are written with the help of custom page and server control classes (They all inherit from core classes though. For example CustomTextBox inherits from TextBox). So the question is this - how do I proceed with testing my apps? Do I need to write my own custom testers? Or should I just test against simple core controls (TextBox, ListBox,...

All, I have started using NUnitASP to write test cases for an ASP.NET application. It works great, but some of the assertions that need to be made depend on values stored in the Session. The problem is that NUnitASP basically acts as a client to webforms and simply abstracts the HTML emitted by the various ASP.NET pages and has no access to the Session or even HttpContext.Current for that matter (its completely detached from the...

I've been searching for a way to test this control with my NUnitASP tests for awhile now and have yet to come up with anything. I have all of my tests written, but until I can get past the initial login page, all my tests fail. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
