hash.web is denied when trying to run webservice on dc

Hi All,

I'm trying to get a webservice running on a domain controller but I obtain
the following error when I try to display the page.

"Access to the path "C:\WINNT\Micro soft.NET\Framew ork\v1.1.4322\T emporary
ASP.NET Files\root\e7d8 70df\8600ba6a\h ash.web" is denied.

I have given the IWAM_Machinenam e access to the Temporary folder and
propagated through to subfolders. The webservice is impersonating a domain
level user which has also been given access to the folder and subfolders.

Does anybody know what I have to have done in order to get this working.

Thanks,
Jesse

I am converting a VB6 WebClass application to VB.Net. Used the VB upgrade tool to do the conversion - and it left me a lot of little code things to do. Did those code things and got my app to compile. Did a few other code things to take advantage of .Net features not available in VB6. When I start the application on my PC I get the error shown below. It seems to me that the app initiation is failing before any app code is executed. My...

I have created a webservice that currently exists on my localhost. I have no trouble creating an instance of the service in my ASP application, but everything blows up when I try to instantiate one of the public methods. The error returned tells me that access is denied. Is there a setting either in the web.config file or IIS that I need to adjust in order for the service to be made public? Thanks ,

I can't connect to our database (seperate database server) from within my webservice. I cannot understand why.!!! * I have configured IIS not to allow anonymous access and to use "windows integrated authentication" * I have configured the webService to use "windows" authentication and to impersonate whomeever uses it. * In the client (the one that consumes the webservice) I have specified the network credentials (DefaultCredentials)...

Hi All, I am trying to build a webservice which would create a powerpoint presentation and save it to the file system. I am using the Powerpoint COM object for this purpose. The standalone windows application runs fine, but when I create a webservice on the same line i get a "Access denied error". This error occurs when the application is trying to create a Powerpoint.ApplicationClass. Does anyone have any ideas?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
