Hi
I am developing a Dot net application (involving image processing) on
a uni processor. It works well on my machine. I then take all my code
on a multi processor, build and run the application there. There is
performance degradation.
The usual performance of the application on MP machine is better than
that of uni processor machine. But the performance of MP degrades when
it comes to the multi-threaded part of the application. I am...

Sorry if this difficult to understand but I'm pulling my hair out and could
do with some good ideas please...
I've developed an application which in .NET as a Windows service which is
simply crashing but with no signs/details on where the crash is occuring.
Please not that the crash is happening on the server and only when the
server is running on a Win2K3 host. App is developed as an N-Tier app
(client-processing-processing-data) with...

I was wondering what would be the easiest way to fax a document from
within a Windows .NET application. It's not enough to simple print to a
fax service device. I want to be able to pass the fax number so I can
create a loop that will send the fax to a bunch of different numbers.
If there is a third party tool that will do this, I would consider that
option.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,
I have a small Access 97 database (~2.5 MB), which has about 9 user
tables, and data are normalized up to 3NF. I'm using a third party
tool/language for web interface application. I just did a quick test,
query runing from Access's internal SQL command line/window, very
fast, reasonably involved query (with three inner joins). So, the
problem seems to be on the third party tool side, maybe, it's
interaction with the driver is not...

Hello,
I am using some external functions supplied by an ERP vendor in a
windows.forms application (vb.net, visual studio.net 2003)

Howdy all,
I'm improving an existing application that's partly written using
Python and the standard library. Many of the improvements I want to
make can be done by using third-party free software.
The immediate customer for this application is happy to install Python
on their machine, but I'd like to remove the hassle of asking them to
continually install new versions of great third-party Python software
that isn't packaged for their...

I'm looking at adding scheduling features to an application and I
wanted to ask the community about any experience with scheduling
components, either open source like from code project or from a vendor.
I'd like to be able to create schedules and lock resources for things
like collision detection (two events trying to use the same resource).
I've seen some GANTT charting components but I don't think that's what
I'm looking for. I'd...

Believe it or not, I've searched quite a bit and can't find any relevant
information on how to consume a J2EE web service from a .NET consumer
WITHOUT the aid of any 3rd party tools.
I have two questions:
1. In a nutshell, how is this accomplished?
2. Are there any publicly available J2EE web services out there that I can
try this against? I don't have the ability to create the J2EE side of the

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
