Is it my imagination or is the stuff in the SASDK overly complex? For
example, let's say I'd like to have a one page web application where I enter
a name into a text box and have the application read the name back to me when
I click a button on the page ("Hello World" for SASDK). Seems like the prompt
control would be ideal for this ... except that the <InlineContent> tag is
ReadOnly. ReadOnly?!? Am I expected to build a grammar dynamically...

About two weeks ago I had an accident and have broken my left elbow and left
wrist. For doing things like Word or e-mail (I use Outlook for) I have been
using Microsoft's speech recognition and that has been working fine.
However as a professional programmer I need to be able to type. Right now I
can't do that (until my arm heals). I've heard of a program by ScanSoft
called Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional. I called ScanSoft and...

Dear all,
I have developed a voice-enabled web application on Win2003 using SASDK Beta 3 using VisualStudio.NET. In order to access this web application the browser must add the speech plug-in component. Some of the users who are accessing this voice-enabled web application doesn't have a speech plug-in installed in their machine, somehow I have to identify whether the speech plug-in is installed in their system or not by using Javascript and...

From time to time, I find myself cross checking one block of code
against another. Usually older stuff in which I've made modifications
that don't work. I don't remember what all the changes were so I
have to print an earlier version and compare it against a printout
of a more recent version. I am dyslexic and it is helpful to have
someone read one copy while I follow along on another copy
until we hit a discrepancy.
Could I somehow...

I am writing my own recogniser and synthesis software in VB .net.
However, every time I get the syntheser to speek something the mic
picks it up and thinks it is a command! It is quite bizzar - it sits
there talking to itself pure jibberish! I use Microsoft Speech the
latest SDK. I tried turing off teh recogniser of course but it doesn't
seem to work. If I turn down the volume of the speakers it's ok of
course but I want to hear the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
