Hello,
(ASP.NET c#)
I want to put some common functions into one class and within this class I
need to have access to the Session, Request and Response. This class is not
page behind file!
I keep trying all sorts of namespaces, but to no avail. Keep getting:
"The name 'Session' does not exist in the class or namespace 'xyz xyz xyz'"
and "The type or namespace name 'Page' could not be found (are you missing a
using directive or an...

Hi gang,
This one looks like a bug :o(
As you may or may not know, setting session management in web.config to use
cookieless sessions causes the ASP.NET runtime to munge a session ID into
the URL, in the format http://yourapplicationpath/(Session.SessionID)/...
which saves numerous headaches when it comes to storing state across page
requests and sessions.

Is it possible to have a Response.Redirect in Global.asax in the
Application_Start and Session_Start events?
We have code in both events, with try-catch blocks, and if an exception is
caught, we wanted to redirect to an error page. But, this doesn't seem to
work.
So, another question is, if an exception is thrown and caught in a catch
block in Application_Start and/or Session_Start, what do we or can we do
with it?

Due to the behaviour of a particular COM object, I need to ensure that a
request for a particular ASP page is finalized before another request for
the page is processed. Does IIS have a way to ensure that subsequent
requests will be queued until the current request is completed?
If not, can IIS be configured to use seperate processes to satisfy requests
for a nominated ASP page?
Thanks in advance.

I have an ASP page that is using an XMLHTTP object to request various
pages from my server. I keep a single session throughout the XMLHTTP
requests by bassing the ASPSESSIONID cookie through the XMLHTTP object.
However, when the page requested through the XML object makes a
<%Response.Redirect()%>
call, a new session is created each time.
Is this a flaw in the XMLHTTP Object? How can I force the session to
remain the same after a...

Hi,
I'm trying to move all my custom validation code into the master
page. Unfortunately anytime I use the response, request, or trace
objects in any master page module (other than page_load), " Object
reference not set to an instance of an object." is the error I
receive.
Below is a sample of code that will not work on my web server. Any
suggestions/advice are appreciated.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
