Hello all. I'm writing an application that is writing trace information
that can be viewed in trace.axd. I would like to rename this and use a
different name specific to my application. I know the name of this is set in
machine.config. I was hoping it would be possible to change this in
web.config. I got it to work, kind of. Good news is I can change the name in
my web.config file. Bad news is that trace.axd still works meaning I can...

Hi,
I have created a custom Config handler for reading a custom config section
in my .config file(s)
It works very well!
I have placed a web.config in my root directory and then I use sub files in
sub diretories overriding various settings in the config file. Very nice
strategy which really makes it easy to customize generic applications.

System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings.Add

I have what I think should be a pretty common scenario in a corporate
environment. I have a web app and three environments on three servers:
Development, QA and Production.
We develop in development and then deploy the updated application to our QA
server and then once tested to our production server.
The application has a web.config file. The contents of the file
(appsettings part) are different in all three environments because...

Hello,
By default, when you create an App.config file it gets named as
MyApp.exe.config after build. I don't like this name and would rather
have the file named MyApp.config, the .exe.config thing might confuse
my users. Is there any way to do this, or am I stuck with
MyApp.exe.config??
Thanks.

I have an application which is installed on a network share to be run
from one or more workstations. I have granted trust to the
applications on the workstations and the appropriate permissions on the
shared folder and the user's can execute the app with no problem.
I do have a problem, however, after the application starts. In the
application's .config file, the connectionStrings section of the file
is encrypted upon first run of the...

I built a VB.net application that makes use of a machine level DB
connection string setting, and a user level starting location setting.
The machine level setting and the default user based setting is of
course stored in the app.exe.config file located in the same directory
as the exe. Upon closing the form, I save the user setting which then
creates a user.config file in the appdata directory in my profile.
This is all well and good....

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
