running Nant from vb code.

hi all,
is there anyway one can run nant builds from a web application ?

Ideally I would like to run the nant build and pipe the nant output back
to the user...

any help/pointers would be much appreciated.

Perhaps setting up a CGI website. The standart output of nant would go out
on the response.

sure - just shell to nant with the correct command line. better solution is
to install cruisecontrol which is a service and website that does this (also
supports nunit and source control).

Hi, all. I have a couple of questions about NAnt. 1. Is there a better way to invoke NAnt from a C# "Master Test Rig" than shelling out? IOW, how should an ASP.NET web app or Windows Service kick off a NAnt build session? 2. We have some test tools that can

Hi! I am currently trying to upgrade to the nant 0.84 and was successful in making the necessary changes. I am having a performance issue though. Whenever I have a reference of the form A.D.dll, what the nant is doing is that it copies all the dlls having A.D.*(A.D.dll, A.D.S.dll, A.D.T.dll, ...) to the bin/Debug. This results in a lot of extra and unnecessary files being copied and hence loss in performance. Am I missing something?...

Hi all I have a cs project that contains a reference to the MSI.DLL. If I open the project manually into the VS.NET it compiles fine, but when it runs against nant it fails. The error is regarding missing namespaces that are into the MSI.DLL. Here is my nant command: <?xml version="1.0"?>

Hi, I couldn't find a nant user group here, so thought i'd try this. I run an external program from nant (robocopy) and unfortunately, it returns 1 on success. Nant interprets this as a failure. I want it to continue when it gets a 1 back (and possibly certain other codes), but fail otherwise. I know I could use failonerror=false but then it would still continue even during a real error. Is there a way to capture the return code...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
