Failed to debug Asp.Net issue on windows 2003

Hi,
I got an error when I debug a asp.net program on a windows 2003 server. It
said,
'Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web
server. You do not have permissions to debug the server.

Verify that you are a member of the 'Debugger Users' group on the server.
'

Surely I added myself to that group and I have administration access to this
server. I don't know why.
Can anyone give me a clue how to resolve this?

So many thanks!

Dale

Hi Dale,

There are a number of documents available that address all the different
scenarios, but check this Blog entry for making sure that your IE settings
are set correctly, which is crucial:

http://west-wind.com/weblog/posts/1247.aspx

Also make sure that you're running the righ version of ASP.NET - if you have
ASP.NET 2.0 installed and accidentally are trying to debug a virtual that is
using ASP.NET 2.0 with VS2003 (or 1.1 with Vs2005) it will not start
debugging.

I'm seeing an error when I try to run/debug a web service. Although it doesn't happen every time, it does occur more than half of the times I hit F5. It appears to be returned by the the JIT compiler as the page is requested by the browser. The result is that the "compiler failed with error code 2000". I have tested the same code on another workstation with VS.NET and it works fine EVERY time. I'm convinced it's not the code and I...

Greetings! I'm testing VS 2005 Beta 2, and I've compiled a program that runs just fine on my computer (where VS is installed). I've tried to run this same program on another computer (after having installed MS .NET Framework 2.0 Beta 2 on it, from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=7ABD8C8F-287E-4C7E-9A4A-A4ECFF40FC8E&displaylang=en), but got the following message:

Hi there, I've seen this error appear a few times in newsgroups but unfortunately I haven't found one that actually provides a solution. I'm basically deploying a new website into an area at a web hosting company and when I try to run the site (which runs in our local IIS server), I get the following error: Server Error in '/New' Application. Compilation Error Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource...

Anyone, I have an ASP.NET webapp in the 1.0 framework that has been working for the past 2ish years. Two weeks ago a new developer received the following error when trying to run the app in debug mode. "The instruction at "0x77f57ec6" referenced memory at "0x797800004". The memory could not be "written".

Hello, Sorry if this is a FAQ, but I couldn't find an answer by searching. I have been using VWB Express for a while, and have just installed VS2005 Professional. I tried to open an existing web site as an IIS project instead of a file-based one. I want to debug it in VS via IIS, using the correct host header name. Anyway, when I hit f5, I got a message saying... "Unable to start

I have a small console app that started out in dotnet 1.1 in VS 2003. That version can be copied to a W2K3 server where it runs fine. I set up a new project in VS 2005 and copied the code files from 2003 to 2005 where they compile and run, no problem. When I copy the two files (exe & dll) to the same W2K3 server they fail with the Strong Name Verification Failed error. After running the console contains: "Unhandled Exception:...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
