Scrolling some table rows while locking others.

You know in Excel you have the ability to lock certain rows such that the
rows under it allow you to scroll but the locked rows say on the screen.
This is especially useful when dealing you want headers to stay in place
because you might have a lot of rows that need to scroll.

I would like to do that same thing in ASP.NET. Does anyone have any
suggestions about the best way to do this?

Couple ways:

Use IFrames. Place the headers outside of the iFrame, place the data in an
iframe.

Javascript/DHTML/CSS (lots of examples online):

I am quite new to MS SQL, and I want to read rows from a todo table, and when a row has been processed, I want to delete that row. Ages ago in MySQL I would probably have locked the table, select, process a row, delete a row, unlock the table. I have been reading through the documentation from MS SQL, but it's not clear what exactly I should do. Since I want to lock only one table in the select (the others just provide

as wat ive mentioned in the title.. im would like to know whether the a particular record/table is being locked in my program. some of the methods which i would like to develop are as below: Lock(KEY, SQLCODE) - to create a lock. Returns 0 on success, 1 if a lock already exists and -1 on failure with SQLCODE. There is no necessity to use IsLock() for checking if a lock exists or not, just insert the record and check for

I'm having problem with using DAO recordset to append record into a table and subsequent code to update other tables in a transaction. The MDB is Access 2000 with the latest service pack of JET 4. The system is client/server, multiusers based. The MDBs are using record locking. Here is part of the code: Dim wkSpace As Workspace, db As Database Dim rstTrans As DAO.Recordset Set wkSpace = DBEngine.Workspaces(0)

Just started investigating InnoDB after having used MyISAM tables in the 4.0.12 version, almost immediately ran into a locking issue with INSERTs, DELETEs, and transactions. Given the following table: CREATE TABLE test1 ( f1 varchar(32) default NULL ) and a steady stream of INSERTs from a command-line shell:

I have a sproc that returns data from a table using a simple SELECT. There are quite a few rows returned, e.g. ~150,000. In my first application, I use a reader on the sproc and iterate through the rows, writing them out to a file. This takes about 5 minutes until I close the reader. Whilst this is going on, I have another application that is trying to insert rows into the table. Normally, the inserts happen straight away, but when...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
