I want to write an apsx page that when loaded does not refresh
Session.Timeout.
It is going to be running in an iframe and refreshing every couple of
minutes.
example. User has 15 minutes left until session expires. iframe.aspx loads
and session still has 15 minutes left.
Is this possible?
I was trying to grab session.timeout at the begininning of the page (init)

Hello,
I have a multithreaded windows NT service application (vb.net 2003) that I
am working on (my first one), which reads a message queue and creates
multiple threads to perform the processing for long running reports. When
the processing is complete it uses crystal reports to load a template file,
populate it, and then export it to a PDF.
It works fine so far....

I'm using that example as my starting point. The timeout it has though is
not bulletproof. It will timeout if it doesn't connect within the timeout
period, but if it connects and the server sends 1 byte and then hangs the
connection open, it will not timeout. I'd like to include another timeout
(let's say 10 seconds) for the read not finishing (or alternatively a timeout

I made the following change to my web.config file (see fragment below) but
does not seem to affect the timeout on my web page. I have a huge session
state but since I'm the only one using it, I'd like to set the timeout to
infiinity. How can I do this?

I am looking for others who have built systems to scan documents, index
them and then make them accessible from an Access database. My
environment is a nonprofit with about 20-25 case workers who use
laptops. They have Access databases on their laptops and the data is
replicated.
The idea is that each case worker would scan their own documents,

I am working on Win2K Pro (SP4) with P4 2.80GHz, 256MB RAM & 20GB hard
disk (IIS5.0). I use Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition to

Hello,
I am creating a simple cgi script which needs to retrieve and process
a huge number of records from the database (more than 11,000) and
write the results to a file on disk and display some results when
processing is complete.
However, nothing needs to be displayed while the processing is on. I
was facing browser timeout issue due to the time it takes to process
these records.

Hi,
How can I avoid application timeout? Generally a web application time out is
20 minutes, however, we can define this timeout in web.config to any number
of minutes. After giving 500 minutes of time out which is about little more
than 8 hours, the page expires in less than 2 hours. I am confused here how
to avoid this timeout problem.
I just dont want my page to be expired, should work similar to windows
application.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
