hi all

I am running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.760 Enterprise Edition
on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition (NT 5.2 Build 3790:) I have 4CPU
and 8GB of RAM. I have AWE enabled, /pae /3gb switch is on in
boot.ini, In my errorlog I have noticed few times error messages as
"The SQL Server cannot obtain a LOCK resource at this time. Rerun your
statement when there are fewer active users or ask the system
administrator to check the SQL Server lock...

A tale of woe, and a question . . .
Last week my boss said to me "we've installed DB2 Connect on this
Solaris box. Make it work."
Now, I've barely seen DB2 Connect on Windows, having fumbled thru one
install and config, with a lot of handholding from IBM Support. I'm
comfortable in unix but have never dealt with DB2 Connect there. (my
main job is as an Oracle DBA, and most of my db's are on Solaris or

who needs to have sequential access of a non ordered unit of objects
whose size decreases almost each time the sequence is finished (at the
begining I have about 2500 objects in the unit, after the first acces I
have 2499, then 2435, then 1720 and so on).
The problem is that sometimes after a whole sequence the number of

MSDN (amongst other places) is full of helpful advice on ways to do data
access, but they all seem geared to wards enterprise applications. Maybe
I'm in a minority, but I don't have those sorts of clients. Mine are all
small businesses whose sites will never reach those sorts of scales. I
deal with businesses whose sites get maybe a few hundred visitors per
day (some not even that much) and get no more than ten orders per day....

Enterprise Library file and Install Services from (batch files )
programme files menu it was asking for visual studio 2003 , I have only

I can import a csv file with no problem. I can also add columns to the
datagrid upon import. I want to be able to start importing at the 3rd
row. This will pick up the headers necessary for the datagrid. Once I
can get to that point I need some way to be able to add new data only
to the new columns that were added.

Hi,
This my problem.
After distribution of my acces-application I want the new user to be able to enter his Name-adress-etc values, in a one-row table called program-variables. These will be used tot print on reports etc.
I want this to be a one-time event. This will help to avoid illegal re-distibution.
My idea is that before updating the values ther is a check: are the fields null or not?
If not the action should be canceled.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
