Creating an ASP.NET application on a server with .NET Framework 1.1

ian
The default Web access mode for this project is set to file share, but
the project folder at 'http://oor-devel/espdev/dictionaryAdmin '
cannot be opened with the path
'\\oor-devel.edu\wwwro ot$\espdev\weba pplication'. The error
returned was:
Unable to create Web project 'espdev/webapplication' . The UNC share
'\\oor-devel\wwwroot$\ espdev\webappli cation' does not exist or you
do not have access.

I got this error when I try creating a new web application project on
our development server from my machine. What's the trick?
Please help.

Thanks

Add yourself as permissions to that share & file level, on the server.

A URL is not a file share.

I'm trying to get an existing VS.NET project up on my Win2003 server and I get the following error (on the actual website page): "It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS." I've been told by the previous developer that the website needs to be set as a "application". I...

Hi, I'm creating a CMS that I would like to be plug-in based with different plugins handling different kinds of content. What I really want is to be able to load/unload plugins on the fly without restarting the application. What I did was to create an AppDomain that loaded the plugins and everything was great, until I tried to pass something else that strings between the domains...

Hi all, I recently installed 64 bit version of Vista hoping to make it my primary development setup. I was able to do work with IIS7 and ASP.NET 2.0/Visua Studio 2005 combo, but hit a roadblock trying to work with Visual Studio .NET 2003 on ASP.NET 1.1 app. The problem is that I can’t create an application pool in IIS7 that would run .NET Framework 1.1. I noticed that unlinke .NET Framework 2.0, Framework 1.1 only gets installed...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
