client side validation and form submission on iis 6 (both 1.0 & 1.1 installed)

Hi,

We have a strange problem where we have moved asp.net applications onto a
Windows 2003 server which has both 1.0 and 1.1 installed. The server is
running in IIS5 isolation mode...

But... None of the client side form submissions are working where clientside
validation is being implemented. we have tried recreated the aspnet sub
directory using the regiis too (with -s for specific application roots) to
no avail. We have to have both versions of the framework running for some
old apps that haven't been migrated yet..

Anyone come across this? Any things we should be looking at ?

Hi everyone. :-) Our site gets a ton of traffic on our contact forms, which collect the standard information (name, address, city, state, zip, home phone, etc.) The form validation is done with PHP. To eliminate (or at least deter) people wasting time submitting phony information, we can compare the state to the zip code (one DB table) and the zip code to the area code (another table in same DB).

Hi, I've just published a test web site on the internet with a simple form and some client side validation controls. On my development PC if I click submit without entering any data the validation controls work and prompt me as expected. On the live web server I do exactly the same thing but no validation is performed and the form is submitted. How can this be? Have I missed something in the setup script? I added both the primary...

I want to know if ASP.NET Web Forms Validation Controls are Server-Side or Client-Side form validation? Since I think each validator control can select either 1) JavaScript based error dialog or 2) show the error message next to the control. For example, if the text field is empty with RequiredField Validator control, it can show the value in ControlToValidate property in two ways as I mentioned. Please advise. Thanks!

I have a required field with a client-side validator. It works as advertised until I try to add code to block double submits and replace the image on the submit button to give the users some feedback. I have localized the problem to the definition of the form.onSubmit handler. Without my blocker, it looks like: onsubmit="ValidatorOnSubmit();" Since my javascript to block the double submit and change the image should only run if...

I have written an ASP.Net application that uses the standard client-side and server-side validation for various fields on the form. Some of the customers that use the form report symptoms that appear to be the result of double-clicking the submit button on the form. The form has three ASP:Button tags, each of which gets translated into INPUT TYPE="SUBMIT" HTML elements. One submits the form's data. One logs the user out. And the other...

Hi, I am trying to customize the asp.net validation to achieve the following: Upon submitting the form, client side validation will run, and it will stop at the first error detected. For example if both UserID and Password text fields are required but neither is filled in, I'd like to display the error message (a dialogbox) "Please enter the User ID". And only after the user has filled in UserID, it will display "Please enter the...

I have two ASP.NET Server Side buttons that perform action on both the Server and Client side. Here is the break down of code placement: 1. Server-Side Load: Contains an Add Attribute for a JavaScript event to be fired for onClick(). 2. Server-Side Click for buttons: Navigates the user to a different form state by resetting visibility of panels on the form. 3. JavaScript to perform validation before allowing the Server-Side click to

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
