IHttpAsyncHandl er -- Global custom thread pool

I am new to ASP.NET, so perhaps this is problem will yield a simple answer.

I am building an ASP.NET application using asynchronous handlers
(IHttpAsyncHand ler). In doing so, it was recommended that I use a
custom thread pool to handle work items that are queued from
BeginProcessReq uest.

I am using the famous DevelopMentor custom thread pool written by
Mike Woodring.

My question -- How do I make only one instance of the pool to be used
by multiple handlers? If I add it to global.asax in the
HttpApplication State.StaticObj ects, will there still be multiple
instances created? Or do I just have to make the thread pool class static?

Any help will be very appreciated.

Hello All, I am using an IHttpAsyncHandler class to intercept HTTP Requests and forward them to a system which processes the Request and returns the Result. I use .NET Remoting to connect the IHttpAsyncHandler object to the System and transfer the Request and Result between the two. This works fine for quite a while, and then I start to get the following error. "This remoting proxy has no channel sink which means either the server has

Hello, I'm currently in the tail end process of developing a high scalability server for my employer. Essentially it receives short socket based connections with an ASCII message, parses that message, does some processing and then sends out a string reply on the same connection. I'm using the asynchrounous IO completion port based socket methods in ..NET 2.0 to handle the comms side of things (giving extremely good performance) and the...

I am evaluating Mike Woodring's custom thread pool classes (Developmentor) for use with an ASP.NET project that will be implementing pages derived from IHttpAsyncHandler. (Recommended by the famous Fritz Onion article on IHttpAsyncHandler...) I understand most of the code, however I am at a losss of the purpose of the ThreadInfo class. It appears that it is used to get the current HTTP context object for a worker thread?? But, can't...

I have recoded the class libraries in .net and would like to acomplish the same functionality in asp.net.

Im trying to add an httphandler for all *.sgf file extensions. I have developed the handler, 1. installed it into the gac 2. added it to the machine.config: <httpHandlers> <add verb="*" path="*.sgf" type="CustomExtensionHandler, Extenders.CustomExtensionHandler, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=d831d925597c1031" validate="True"/> </httpHandlers>

Web Solution Goal: Have a global database connection Why: (There will be 30+ tables, represented by 30+ classes) I only want to reference the database connection once. I put the connection string in the web.config. I created a class with a static database connection and the class opens and closes the database.

Hi, I am working on an application (developed using c#2.0) which needs to do a big job and when you start the job in a single thread it takes long time to complete. So, we want to break the job and run in multiple threads. I heard about .Net Thread pool class but it has some limitations like we can't have more than 25 threads in it and read some articles which explain the problems with the Standard thread pool in case any of thread throws...

Hi All, This is my first time using this interface, so I am sure I am just missing something stupid. When my Http Handler gets called, the Begin runs and the delegate runs, but the EndProcessRequest never runs and the page hangs forever. Any idea why? Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
