aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 1864) was recycled because it was suspected to be in a deadlocked state. It did not send any responses for pending requests in the last 180 seconds.

Hello,

We have three webservers that host the same web application (written in
VB.NET running on .NET Framework 1.0 SP2). We receive the following
error (aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 1864) was recycled because it was suspected
to be in a deadlocked state. It did not send any responses for pending
requests in the last 180 seconds.) every few days on ONLY ONE of the
three servers. At the point when the error occurs, the CPU locks up at
100%. All three servers connect to the same database and are
responding fine to all requests (so I don't think that the issue is due
to the database). Here are the specs for the environment (same for all
web servers):

Hardware: Dell PowerEdge 2550 Servers
OS: Windows 2000 Server
App Server: IIS 5x w/ .NET Framework 1.0 SP2
IDE: Visual Studio .NET 2002
We have taken following steps to resolve the issue:

1. Checked the App Files (they are identical).
2. Checked the *.config files (they are identical).
3. Reinstalled .NET Framework SP2 (just the service pack).
4. Rebuilt the "bad" server from an image of one of the "good"
servers.
5. Reinstalled .NET Framework w/ SP2 (entire .NET Framework).
6. Checked the App files and config files (they are identical).
After all of this, the problem continues. Has anyone been able to get
over this problem? Can someone shed some light on this or offer a
suggestion?

Thanx in advance...

Hi all. I'm having a nasty problem. A client's website was originally written with classic ASP. They requested a new portion of the site that was deemed a perfect candidate for ASP.NET. So, .NET was installed on their web server and one of the subdirectories in the web site was converted to a virtual application to support the new pages that would be added. The rest of the site was left untouched. New aspx files were added to this...

I have these errors repeteatly in the event log: "aspnet_wp.exe(PID:2272)was recycled because it was suspected to be in a deadlocked state. It did not send responses for pending requests in the past 180 second." Searching in KB, it turns that there is a hotfix, but MS does not recommend to install it, if not necessary...And my PID is not from the listed ones. Does somebody have this problem? What will be the right approach? Running dot...

Hi All, I am trying to debug a strange problem of duplicate entries in my database when I came across the following errors in the event log (see bottom of mail). The web server runs the database as well but it is not hit very hard, I would say there are about 20 request/sec constantly thought the day. The only potentially suspect app is a Linux based program that makes requests to IIS. Other than that I cannot think of any reason why...

aspnet_wp process accumulates memory usage up to the point when it's more than 60% of available RAM (2G) and none of .NET applications function. Sometimes user is able to login, navigate between the pages but can't perform any operations that generate thing like PDF files using Crystal Reports etc. Sometimes the application can't even be loaded and sign-in page stays blank. There are no events that are logged in the event viewer to point to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
