Though I have designed and implemented a number of large reasonably
well received web sites I do not consider myself a graphics designer
I am now for the first time going to work with a graphics designer. I
notice that in the draft design the idea will be that many 'pages'
will in fact be pdf files. I suppose I exaggerate slightly but the
site could turn out to be a series of 'contents'pages comprising links
to pdf files which are for...

I have developed a custom control to be used in my application. My
application includes a form designer, so the control can be hosted while
designmode for the control is either true or false, depending on whether they
are using the form designer, or in "run mode". The custom control includes a
slider control that is supposed to be active in our form designer
(designmode=true) and inactive in our run mode (designmode=false). The
problem...

Hello:
I want to know if it's possible to have a component what
visibility at design time depends on how it's being created,
for example, if the component is manually dropped by the
user to a windows forms it should be displayed but if it's
automatically generated by a Designer, to be assigned to a
property of a different component, it shouldn't.
There are any way of achive this ??

I am trying to debug a user written web control and web control designer. I
found an article “Building Windows Forms Controls and Component with Rich
Design-Time Features” that describes how to setup debugging for a Windows
Form control. I cannot find any documentation or articles on setting up the
same facility for a Web control.
Any help on setting the control library project to debug the design-time
code would be greatly...

Many (if not most) have said that code-behind is best if working in teams -
which does seem logical.
How do you deal with the flow of the work?
I have someone who is good at designing, but know nothing about ASP. He can
build the design of the pages in HTML with tables, labels, textboxes etc.
But then I would need to change them to ASP.net objects and write the code
to make the page work (normally I do this as I go - can't do this...

I have a custom collection in my c# winform ui control called Items.
Items is a built in collection type that does not allow itself to be
replace (you can't 'set' the itemscollection in the control).
However, the contents of the Items collection is persisted through
designtime.
Currently this all works except for the following. When you bring up
the custom collection editor and add new items then close the
collection editor.

Introduction
Usability and relevance have been identified as the major factors
preventing mass adoption of
Business Intelligence applications. What we have today are traditional
BI tools that don't work
nearly as well as they should, even for analysts and power users. The
reason they haven't
reached the masses is because most of the tools are so difficult to use
and reveal so little

Hi All, does anyone know how to add TabPages of ones own classes at design time ? ideally when adding a new TabControl it would
contain tab pages of my own classes, I know you can achieve this with ListView columns so it should be doable, thanks

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
