Hi,
I have been working on an asp.net (1.1) app - developing against a virtual
folder in "personal web server". I have successfully deployed it to an IIS6
virtual folder, but when I try and deploy to a web site in IIS6, I get "The
page cannot be displayed" errors. Any ideas? And - am I correct in thinking
that when I publish to my ISP, they will deploy it in a discrete web site,
rather than a virtual folder? I guess I'm a little confused over what
virtual folders are all about...
Thanks,
Pete Griffiths 3 1316
I am not 100% sure, but depending on how the IIS is configured, are you sure
it is looking for "default.as px" (or whatever is your default page) in the
list of "documents" on the IIS website configuration page ?
And have you added ASP.NET under "Web Server Extensions" in the IIS control
panel ?

Tony Fonager
Also, make sure that the directory/virtual folder is set as an "Applicatio n"
in IIS.
In IIS, right click the directory and click Properties. Under Application
Settings on the Directory tab, there is a button to "Create" an application
for that directory.

Thanks guys,
In the event it was an easy solution - there was a path problem in my code

We are moving from a Windows 2000 Server to a Windows 2003 server. Our
ASP.NET web applications work fine on IIS 6.0 on the Windows 2000 and
Windows 2003 server.
All of our no touch deployment .NET Windows applications work fine on
Windows 2000 server but when we move them to Windows 2003 Server / IIS 6.0
the following happens:
1) User access the EXE via URL... (ex:
http://new2k3webserver/somefolder/someapp.exe)

I have an application that communicates with the Company's Active
Directory to get the OU of the users.
This said application is an ASP.Net web site and has the Windows
Authentication enabled. .
Now, here's the anomaly:
If the application is run on a Server using IIS 5.1, the application
works like a charm and the communcation with the Active Directory
occurs without any problem.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
