Dear all,
I have a very weird Access 97 MDE behavior that I don't know how to
explain and, of course, how to solve:
.. I have a site with 14 PC's, mixed Windows XP Pro and Windows 98,
running an application developed on my laptop with Windows XP Pro.
Front Ends are located on user's PC's and Back End is located on a
"Windows 2000 Server".
Eveything is working properly.

Please help
I don't know if this is possible but what I would really like to do is
to use On Error Goto to capture the code that is being executed when
an error occurs.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I am working on a project that requires a Windows Service which
performs the following file transfer functions.
1. It monitors a specific local directory on a Windows 2003 Server.
2. When it finds files with a specific extension, it queries a SQL
Server database to determine what workstation will be the destination
of a File.Copy.
3. It copies those files to the appropriate workstations on the LAN,

Hey Guys,
Today we are going to look at Code Access Security.
Code access security is a feature of .NET that manages code depending on its
trust level. If the CLS trusts the code enough to allow it ro run then it
will execute, the code execution depends on the permission provided to the
assembly. If the code is not trusted wnough to run or it attempts to perform
an action which doe not have the required permissions then its execution...

Server Windows 2003. Created one web site, everything works fine. Copied the
content to another folder and created another web site pointing to the copied
contecnt for test purposes. Configuration is identical except that the test
site has a different IP and some path changes were made in web.config to
match the different location. First site still working fine, but test site
gets access denied trying to create folders under the Temporary...

Is there a way, given the full path of a folder on a network, that one can
programatically tell if you have Read access to that folder?
I have an application where the user is able to select a number of search
folders using the standard dialog control. There shouldn't be an issue with
the search folder being on a local drive or a network drive. But if you
don't have Read access to the folder, there's trouble. The user can see the...

I am running an application that requires "Full Trust" which is declared in
the assembly.
How do I trap for the System.Security.Policy.PolicyException that is raised
by a local machines CAS if its current policy will not allow "Full Trust",
ie its running in the Intranet Zone.
I am trying to trap the error to advise users to have adm revise policy to
permit running the program otherwise a cryptic debug screen is raised.

I am getting the following error trying to create a folder on the file
system using an intranet internal application.
Exception: System.UnauthorizedAccessException
Message: Access to the path '\\lifedevsql\shared\FileDocs\File093969' is
denied.
When I Googled the exception I found a reference to impersonating a user in
the web.config file. Is there any other way to allow create/modify/delete

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
