I have 2 seperate web applications A and B. During the execution of A, I
want to do a Server.Transfer to a page in application B. This works fine if
A has a reference to B, but without the reference, I get the following error:

It seems to be looking for B.dll in the path for application A, and can't
find it. Because of the specifics of this project I am unable to set a
reference, or even include a <codeBase> element in the config file. Is there
any way to force the runtime to look in the path of the target application
instead of the launching app? 1 1904
that correct. a server transfer does not cross application. it works by
creating an instance of the page and calling the methods on it. so if you
add a reference to the other project (the other projects code will be copied
to the local bin) you can tranfer to that page, but it will run in the
current appdomain (vdir). as .net does not allow crossed references, you can
only go one way (a call b or b call a).

proper usages of the two methods that seems working

Hello,
We have two applications that will reside on the same webserver.
We want to be able to post from pages in App1 to to pages in App2.
We need to pass sensible data, so we cannot use querystring.
We are using server.transfer (needing to reference App2 in App1).

Hi,
I'm having a problem similar to the one that's stated in this KB
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;839521
When I'm posting a page to itself with the bool value as true it falls into
an infinite loop and later a StackOverflow Exception. I need to do this and
not a Response.Redirect or a transfer with the bool in false.
My problem is that this KB is saying that this problem should be solved with

I've got the simple problem where I'd like to transfer
somewhat large files to my webserver via
http/webservice/something like that.
My question is what kinda limits have people been able to
hit? Is 500mb unreasonable or not. Client doesnt have to
be a typical webbrowser, so I could theoretically chunk it
up and send chunks to the server, when completed, re-
assemble and write file etc.

Hi,
I have a web application which sometimes throws an “out of memory”
exception. To get an idea what happens I traced some values using performance
monitor and got the following values (for one day):

Execution: 7
\\FFDS24\ASP.NET Apps v1.1.4322(_LM_W3SVC_1_Root_ATV2004)\Compilations

I need to be able to move from one web app on my server to another on the
same server and preserve the session state. I have played with
server.transfer but I get an error saying I can't do this. How can I
accomplish this. I don't think redirects with session state being passed in
the url makes any sense from a security standpoint.

Hi all,
What are the major considerations when considering Server.Transfer?
I have some legacy apps (when I say legacy, I mean ASP.NET1.0) that use
Server.Transfer for almost everything. I always thought
Response.Redirect was better because more of the items are GCed. So I
am rethinking about the importance of Server.Transfer usage. In the old
ASP days I seem to remember (I could be wrong) that when I did a
Server.Transfer, all objects...

Hi,
I'm developing a reporting app that works as a subordinate to other apps,
ie, users still see the menu structure for the app they're working in, but
generate their report in my app.
When the user selects the menu option for my report, they go through a
session transfer page, and they are Response.Redirect'ed to my app. This
works fine. However, on the index.aspx page of my app, when they click a
report, or generate a new report,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
