Is there a known bug with the interaction between the HttpWebRequest and the
ThreadPool? I current spawn several HttpWebRequest's using
BeginGetResponse, and they work for a while, using worker threads from the
ThreadPool. However, eventually (relatively quickly) there become fewer and
fewer available worker threads in the pool, until there are 0 and a
System.InvalidOperationException occurs with the message: "There were not
enough free...

Hi,
Is it possible to force HttpWebRequest to do exactly (not approximately) the same as MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP does?
More details. I port JScript to JScript.NET
I have a server (ASP invoking binary code; code not accessible).
I send XML requests to it.
If my request is accepted, ServerXMLHTTP returns XML with accept details.
If my request is rejected, ServerXMLHTTP returns XML with reject details.

I am attempting to post to a url (https://FakeURL/logon.asp) using the

We've accomplished this in the past utilizing the ServerXMLHTTP object. When

I hae the following VBA script that works fine but I cannot get
HttpWebRequest to do the same job. I get a logon failed error.
Can anyone craft an example from this info?
Sub Get1Report()
Dim doc As Object 'For storing the downloaded report
Dim s$ ' The string sent to the server for retrieving the report
Dim direc$ ' Where to store the downloaded ZIP file (for version=4)
Dim filenumber# ' For writing to the ZIP file

Hi all,
I have a quick question. I'm trying to speed up an ASP.NET page I've put
together. The page has to send 15 POST requests to a web server and
retrieve the results. Each request is about 400 - 600 milliseconds, so
using sending them synchronously is taking 6,000 to 9,000 ms. I'd like to
send the requests asynchronously, but I'm having trouble using the
HttpWebRequest BeginGetRequestStream and EndGetRequestStream,...

I am uploading a zip file using an HttpWebRequest and a PUT operation
to Sharepoint (2003) from a Windows Form application. When I upload
the same file using the Sharepoint Portal Web UI itself, the file
uploads in 1/3 the time. If I copy the file over the network using
Windows Explorer, it also copies in about 1/3 of the time.
I don't understand why it is taking so much longer transferring it in
this way.
I've tried several...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
