Loading Data Message

Is there a way to display a message using an aspx page with controls on it that the data is loading for the page without having to display one html page then reloading the aspx page. in other words display a message on the aspx page before all the controls are loaded and the data, then display the controls with the data all in one aspx page?

or if there is another way to do this, please how...

thanks

No, there's really no way to do this.

When your data is loading, it's loading on the server. When the data are
through loading, the server emits the completed HTML. In the meantime, your
user is sitting there looking at the previous page.

The only way for this to work is for the previous page to say "data loading"
and the new page to show your data.

We are trying to load text tab delimited files into SQL server using informatica 5.1 version. The text files are FTPed to a local server and then files are moved to applicable folder before loading. The problem is when we open the files after FTP the characters are already converted to something else. EX: ü got converted as Ï. Now when we load them into SQL server we want Ï to transfer as ü again.

I have an ASP group calendar application which pulls calendar data from Exchange via webdav into an XML string. I then loop the XML nodes to populate a collection of appointments. Finally I use the appointment collection to populate the calendar control. The performance getting the XML data is fine, but loading the data into the collection is slow. My question/problem is should I be using the collection, a dataset, or something else to...

The few times in the past that I've loaded unbound data, I've tended to cheat and use temp tables (not really unbound) or use code for small datasets. I'm currently involved in a project that has numerous tables in the 200 column range, with several thousand rows of data. A consulting review prior to my involvement stressed the wasted space and database speed as the major impetus for normalization. Although the db actually works fairly...

I've been bothered for some time about my DataGrid not populating my rows very quickly. I have about 10K rows loading into the grid. I create a datatable dt with 2 columns, an ID and a display. The ID is a member of the keys array. I then create a DataView dv over the table, and sort it by Display and ID column (in case of duplicate Display). I then set my DataGrid.DataSource = dv; I then load the datatable with my rows, and this is...

Thanks Michelle, How could I achieve the second one.I do not like Flashing windows in response to selection of an item. I agree the data transfer is very little but the same data transferred for more than once takes multiple of the initial load time. I used to use <%....%> in asp to achieve the forbidden method( :) just kidding) of client side scripting. The Script tags were used to create a data array with Database data relevent to the...

Hi, I have a project with various forms that each include a number of picture boxes and panels with background images. When these forms first load, they kind of load in "pieces", with the pictures coming to view consecutively, even on a 1.6 Ghz processor with 512 MB RAM. The pictures are loaded in the Form_Load event. Is there a way for them to all load perfectly before the user sees the form? Thanks,

I have two dropdowns that take a few seconds to populate (they are populated from a remote database, but the connection to the database is not the best). Is it possible to put a 'Loading...' message into the dropdownlist which will show by default, and then will disappear when the dropdown is populated? Maybe this could be done through javascript or otherwise?

I'm trying to load a GridView up with data manually, in code. I'm not using any datasource. Using this code.... ArrayList myRowArrayList; GridViewRow myGVR = new GridViewRow(0,0,DataControlRowType.DataRow, DataControlRowState.Normal); TableCell myCell = new TableCell(); TextBox myTextbox = new TextBox(); myTextbox.Text = "hello world"; myCell.Controls.Add(myTextbox);

Why is its substantialy slower to load 50GB of gzipped file (20GB gzipped file) then loading 50GB unzipped data? im using System.IO.Compression.GZipStream and its not maxing out the cpu while loading the gzip data! Im using the default buffer of the stream that i open on the 20GB gzipped file and pass it into the GZipStream ctor. then System.IO.Compression.GZipStream takes an hour! when just loading 50GB file of data takes a few minutes!

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
