Is there a way to prevent a page postback from being added to the browser
history without using SmartNavigation?
I'd like to be able to do this in a cross-browser compatible way (modern
standards-compliant browsers).
I've seen tons of articles on how to maintain scroll position and focus, but
what about this other feature of SmartNavigation?
Anyone know of a base page class that could accomplish this? Or do I have to
wait for Whidbey?

Hi All
I wanted to enable "SmartNavigation" in my site.
For this I put <pages smartNavigation="true" /> in web.config file. So far
so good. But it causes the link from the aspx pages to the css files be
broken.
When an aspx page opens up for the first time, it displayed everything fine
as per the linked css file. But after postback the page is displayed without
any formatting, i.e. as if it could not find the css file.

I've got a long page (user requirement) with a datagrid on
the second scrolled page. I've got smartnavigation on and
it works fine for everything else on the page, but if I
click a sort header or an item edit on the datagrid,
postback puts me back to the top of the page.
Any way I can get smartnavigation to work for a postback
triggered by from a datagrid?

Hello,
when SmartNavigation is True
how can I force after Postback that the page goes to the top because
of the error message or where should I put the error message (top or
button)?
With old Browser SmartNav is disabled.

I have had some problems with using Samrtnavigation.
Using a frame solution where initially a datagrid is displayed, which when
an item is selected hides the datagrid panel & presents a panel of controls
that have validation.
Without smatnavigation this works fine, with it enabled the error message
'can't find script....' occurrs.
One thing I found that cures it is setting; in I.E. the 'Check for newer
versions of stored pages' to...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
