huh? You saying you want page 2 to populate page one, when both are already
open, without page one being refreshed?
Sounds like you might want to rethink what you are doing...it's not really
something that WWW was designed to do. Now, you may have some luck if the
"window" was issues a name from an original opener document and using
something like a parent.name.tex tBlah.... No matter what though you are
trying to do something completely clientside, and I would suggest hitting up
a clientside group. Without the refresh there is no server call, with no
server call it's not ASP/ASP.NET

I am relatively new to .Net and have been coding an intranet site for my employer for a couple of months. I am currently stuck coding in a text-editor called EditPlus without access to the VS.Net IDE, and coding pages with the script directly in each page (not using the codebehind method) as most of my learning material has demonstrated. I started with the IBuySpy Portal (SDK version not VS Version) as my base portal and have coded...

I have a WinForm with controls bound to a typed recordset that was generated by the Dataset Designer. There are several ComboBox controls with their DataSource bound to different lookup tables. Everything is working fine, except when I need to handle a null default value in the data record coming from the database. I want the combo whose SelectedValue is bound to that field to display the "default" entry in the combo in this case. I...

Hi, I want to display a Label in a DataGrid according to some condition. I therefore check whether the condition is true in the ItemDateBound EventHandler of the DataGrid. Unfortunately the conversion is extremely costly in performance. Does anybody know how I could set the label (of the whole content of the TableCell) to .Visible = False without converting e.Item.Controls(2) to a System.Web.UI.WebControls.Label?

I´m new to ASP.Net. My workmate has some experience with it. He claimed that in ASP.Net working with frames is much simpler than it was ASP. I asked explanation but he couldn't give me such. (a button inside a-tag with attribute target isn't anything new relating ASP.Net, its same old HTML). He claimed that you could change another page´s controls´s property´s value from another frame by using this method: ' Page "Bottom"

I've run into a problem on a couple of projects that I think I've identified - but would like confirmation of what I think is going on. Also interested in any fast solutions to fix the user controls/pages that resulted from this. On these projects the page design was done with designers who used pure HTML with an HTML editing tool outside of Visual Studio. The developers then created the empty pages/user controls, copied the HTML code...

I was thinking about developing a workflow application yesterday and was musing over the different approaches than one could take in restricting specific actions on a ticket( Form ) at any said stage. One approach I have used on other systems is to prevent the action buttons appearing. For example, if one did not have the Role of Administrator, one would be prevented from deleting a ticket not created by oneself. However, it did occur...

Something very strange going on here! Don't know where dstorms original post went! The post, in essence, stated that his form, containing a checkbox and a textbox, opened fine if opened independently, but opened without any controls showing if opened thru the Autoexec macro. The form was set up to open only Where ...checkbox = 1, but would open as stated above, with no controls showing, whether the box was checked or unchecked. ************** ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
