The following script sets, resets or displays the contents of a cookie.
When I place the script in a directory under the iis root, let's
say "mysite" (http://localhost/mysite/tst.asp) it works as expected.
When I create a virtual directory "mysite" and point it to the directory
where the script is, the cookie can no longer be set after it has been
cleared, even though it is accessed in the same location
(http://localhost/mysite/tst.asp)

Hello all,
I have a set of admin pages which are put in a subfolder called admin inside
my application folder.
I want to limit access to these admin pages.
How can I do this?
In Linux, I can password protect the directory, so that whenever a page
within the admin subfolder is accessed for the first time, an authentication
window pops up asking for username-password. How can I implement the same

I have a site which uses forms authentication but I would
like to exclude certain pages on the site from
authentication. In other words I would like the user to be
able to get to these pages without having to Log In.
How do I change my web.config file to exclude certain
files.
<authentication mode = "Forms">
<forms name = ".ASPX" loginURL="Authenticate.aspx"
protection = "All" path="/" />

Is it possible to exclude certain files from the "Copy Project" command,
like can be done in FrontPage when publishing a web? How?
This would be very convenient. For example, I have settings in my WebConfig
file that need to be different on my server than on my development machine.
So I'd like to exclude that file when doing a Copy Project. I also have
other files that I know aren't changed that I would like to avoid having to
upload...

I'm not one to rant or flame....so please excuse me while I do so for this
once. I've now spent a bit of time working with VS2005 beta 2 to see how it
functions for web development, especially how our current extensive number
of .Net 1.1 web apps convert to it. After a week's time I dont's mind the
converted app code that was broken and had to be changed, due to
deprecation, new framework classes (some of which have names identical to...

However there are a couple of pages that don't require authentication..
What do i need in my web.config, to specify these pages don't require
authentication..
thus the user is not redirected to my default login url..when they ('pages')
are requested.

Hi,
How to exclude the App_Data directory from Visual SourceSafe?
It appears that Vs 2005 automatically adds the App_Data directory with the
large binary MDF and LOG files to the Visual SourceSafe.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
Thanks,

using VS2005, web application projects, web deployment projects
My web installer builds from the output of the web deployment project. I
end up with the obj folder in my web site. How do I use an exclude filter to
stop this (obj does not work)? Better yet can I have the deployment project
exclude files not part of the project. I assume that it is simply working on
the directory structure.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
