1. Created a new C# web application project
2. Change the name of webform1 to login.aspx
3. And in the .cs file change the name of the class to login, and include
System.web.security namespace.
4. Place a textbox and a button in the login.aspx form.
5. Have the following code in the button click event.
if (true)
{
FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(TextBox1.Text, false)

I tried on the Security newgroup, as well as other places, and haven't
gotten an answer yet - - I'm pulling my hair out over this one.
I'm trying to get Forms Authentication working.....I can get any requested
page to automatically go to the Login.aspx page, AND, the ReturnURL
querystring is correct in the address bar, but no matter what, I can't get
it, once the user is authenticated, to redirect to the new page. It ALWAYS
refreshes the...

Hi all
How can the following problem be solved:
My application uses forms authentication. Normally a
start.aspx page should be send to the client before
login.aspx is shown.
Start.aspx consist of simple JScript writing a cookie about
screen resolution followed by an automatic transfer to
login.aspx. This page is therefore test whether cookies and

Hi,
Quick question - I'm pretty new to asp.net. I have a network that has my
development machine (XP) and 2 others (both W2K) on the same subnet. When
trying to access folders protected by asp.net forms authentication from my
development machine where the site is hosted everything works as expected
and I'm bounced to the login page specified in the web.config.
However, when I access these folders from the other machines I can access...

I'm using forms authentication and on my first page I want to check if
the user has a cookie, and if they do I want to authenticate then and
send them to my default page with a greeting, otherwise send them to a
login page.
I've seen a lot of examples on the internet where the user login details
are checked and then RedirectFromLoginPage is used, but I haven't seen
anything on simply authenticating the user and then sending them to a...

I am trying to password protect a subdirectory using forms authentication. I
am using the "Location" tag to specify the directory to be protected. The
login.aspx page is in the root directory of the app. Here is the web.config:

<system.web>
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms name="authAdmin" loginUrl="Login.aspx" protection="All" timeout="30">
<credentials passwordFormat="Clear">

Greetings,
I need to implement GenericPrincipal based authentication without using
ASP.NET Forms Authentication.
I know it is much simpler using Forms Authentication, but in this case,
I have no control over the matter.
I have two pages - login.aspx and home.aspx.
Following is the Click event of the login button on the login.aspx page

Hello,
I am attempting to share forms authentication between two applications
but running into problems. The documentation I've been able to dig up
says (to summarize) if the the Web.Config settings are the same between
the apps they should work happily together. The only difference I have
between the apps Web.Config settings is their <forms> loginUrl, which
isn't supposed to make a difference.
App1 Web.Config:
<authentication...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
