missing .resx file

I had an aspx page (mypage.aspx) with a code behind file (mypage.aspx.cs )
that in turn had a resx file (mypage.aspx.re sx). I decided to create another
aspx page (myotherpage.as px) that would reuse the code-behind from the first
page (mypage.aspx.cs ). I hooked everything together and both aspx pages work
great. In the process I renamed the code-behind file (mypage.aspx.cs ). This
caused a disconnect in the VS.NET IDE with the resx file. I then deleted the
resx file to see if it would get recreated automatically. It was not
recreated. Everything seems to work fine without the resx file, and I've
been testing with it this way for a long time now.

Should I be concerned about the resx file being omitted?

What's the .resx file for?

Thanks!

I have a .Net solution which involves several webapps and class libraries. In order to localize the web pages, I use resource files for the strings, following MS's guidelines vis-a-vis file naming etc. So there is a file called Strings.resx and one called String.da.resx (da for the Danish language). The expected result after building the solution was that a folder named "da" should be present in the "bin" folder on the webserver, but the...

Hi all, we have developed a .NET component for use inside Windows Forms: this component has been written using VC++.NET (2003) and is working perfectly when inserted inside VC#.NET or VB.NET projects; its generated assembly is inside MyAssembly.dll When used inside a VC++.NET project it appears correctly over forms at design time but when trying to compile the project we get the following error:

Hi Folks I'm currently working on a Localization+Globalization project; for this project, we need to generate ".Resx" files and we use "US English" Resx file as the base version, to compare the content with other languages. We have quite a number of Resx file and each Resx file has enough items so there is a high probability that we might miss few nodes/items in RESx files of other language.

Hi, using Managed C++ (.Net 2.0), I want to embed some images within an executable using a .resX file, and upon an event (in this case a combo box changing), I want the picture box to update with a different one. I tried the following code: System::ComponentModel::ComponentResourceManager^ resources = (gcnew System::ComponentModel::ComponentResourceManager(formDebayer::typeid));

Hi I have a Project A that is being reffered by another WEB project Webber. In Project A i am using a resx file to store some information in it. I have m1de the Build Action of the Resx file to Content and set copy to output Directory property to Copy Always. I have a web service that needs to return a particular string for one of its web methods. I would like to manage the strings in a resource file. I went through a lot of the help provided on the net and can't seem to get it to work. Can someone with expertise assure me this is possible as a Web Service (using C#)? If so, can someone provide the steps on how to get this working?

I have the latest version of Visual Studio 2008 Professional, which allows you to create resource files (this is the .resx file, no?), unlike the Express version, which does not. I am trying to cut and paste code that MSDN recommends for playing a simple wav file from inside an embedded file, like presumeably the 'resources' file .resx is. I want to embed the .wav file in a 'resource file' since I don't want the user storing the file on...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
