Internal Server Error with HTTPRequest

Bp
I'm writing a simple HTTPRequest that retrieves the content of a web page.

Dim httpReq As System.Net.Http WebRequest
Dim httpResp As System.Net.Http WebResponse

httpReq = CType(System.Ne t.WebRequest.Cr eate(URLString) ,
System.Net.Http WebRequest)
httpResp = CType(httpReq.G etResponse(), System.Net.Http WebResponse)

The problem is that on certain pages, I get a WebException of "The remote
server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error." on the
HTTPRequest.Get Response function call. The WebException.St atus is set to
ProtocolError. When I use IE 6.0 to retrieve these pages, it works fine. Are
there some additional settings that I need to make to retrieve certain web
pages? One sample URL that fails on the call to HTTPRequest.Get Response is
the ASP.NET Users Group page on MSDN:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/usergroups...6CurrentPage=2

Thanks for any help in advance,

Bp

I'm trying to run the following page on my desktop from my host server. It works just fine if I run it from my desktop, but not if I run it from the server. I get "Error: Permission denied" on the "newActiveXObject" statement. I understand about the security issues surrounding ActiveX, but since I'm not accessinig any client-side files, I would think this should work. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Don

Hi I have two applications(client and server) that pass an XML document but I have a hard time reading the XML document on the server side. So the client application creates the XML document and sends it to the server. On the server side I want to load/read this XML document.

Hi All, I am trying to build an class that will POST XML to a merchant Gateway. The XML represents a customer transaction. I have no idea how to go about posting anything other then a collection of name value pairs. Can someone please give me a hand. I have been searching for a few days. I've come up with 1 very vague VB example from 1999. I'm currently developing in .NET 2.0 and 1.1. Thanks

I have been working with ASP.NET 1.1 for quite a while now. For some reason, opening some ASP.NET applications we wrote is producing the following error message: "The Web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the Web project located at the following URL: 'http://localhost/WebApplication1'. 'HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error'."

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
