I have an asp.net ecommerce web application on a remote web server. I'm using an Access database on the back end. I've notice a few strange things. When I mimic an multiple user environment by surfin it in multiple browsers simultaneously the site generates a generic runtime error after awhile. I'm thinking this has something to do with my access database and multiple connections. I'm using forms authentication with a login page. Is...

Can't figure this one out. I appears to not be code related. After surfing my asp.net web app for a while 5 - 10 min. it fails to open any further connections to my access 2000 database. There seems to be no set drop off point either that would point to a specific code problem. I went through and made sure that I explicitly closed all my connections when done and even called the dispose method after each one. I noticed that asp.net...

Hi all, Will appreciate if someone can help me with this problem. I am using VS 2003 on Win2000, sp 4. 2GB RAM. Session data is stored on DB on another machine in network. Can connect to the DB (no problem with that). I try to save DB connection string in web.config file, as described in MSDN 'Declaring and Accessing Section Groups' article. I think this is optimal way/place to store global variables accessible from any part of...

Hi, Is it possible to specify the location of a web.config file in an ASP.NET application? I have one ASP.NET application which is to be hosted on 2 web sites in the same web server. I want to configure the 2nd web site as virtual directory so that the 2 web sites are pointing to the same application. However, there are different configuration settings for the 2 web sites, so that accessing these 2 sites' same ASP.NET application will...

I'm not very familiar with the web config file. I would like to use the timeout item in the session state for our connection string, but not use the stateconnection string and sqlconnectionstring in the sessionstate section. I have our connection string information in the appsettings section of the web config file. Our authenication mode reads - <authentication mode="Windows" /> <identity impersonate="true" />

I am working on a web app that I want to be able to use a separate config file on, in addition to the web.config file that's already working in the application. If I put the following in the web.config file (VS 2005, Framework 2.0), I can retrieve the values fine: <appSettings> <add key="fileInputFolder" value="C:\National City Downloads\test"/> <add key="fileTransaction" value="\Transactions\"/>

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
