I've been developing a stored procedure that uses a user defined
function in the query portion of the procedure. However, since the end
product needs to allow for dynamic table names, the UDF will not work.
I've been trying to get this to work with converting the UDF to a
procedure, but I'm having no luck.
Here is the background on what I'm trying to accomplish. I need to
perform a sub-identity on a table, I have the normal identity set,...

We have a stored procedure that returns a result set. We call this
stored procedure from an RPG program using SQL CLI. The first call is
successful and we can fetch rows, etc. The RPG program ends with
*INLR set on. The second time the program is called and the stored
procedure is executed, the stored procedure bombs before it can return
the cursor to the result set.
In the job log we see:
Space offset X'00000000' or teraspace...

hi all,
thanks for everyone for your support!
i have a report being built in studio 2005. It calls a stored procedure. The
SP runs a query and gets a data set which then loops through to get other
data. At the end the stored procedure cursor returns several data sets.
my problem is that the report services appears to be reading only the data
returned from the first loop of the cursor inside the stored procedure. It
does not return the...

This approach I found very efficient and FAST when compared to the
rowcount, or Subquery Approaches.
This is before the advent of a ranking function from DB such as
ROW_NUMBER() in SQL Server 2005 and the likes of it. So
This one works with SQL2000
What do you think?

Hi,
I'm gonna pull my hair in the coming days with these DB2 stored
procedures.
So the issue, let's assume a simple stored procedure like this :
CREATE PROCEDURE MYSCHEMA.PROCEDURE1 ( )
DYNAMIC RESULT SETS 1

Can anyone offer pointers to articles/examples of passing a Ref Cursor
***IN*** to an Oracle stored procedure. I find tons of examples for getting a
ref cursor OUT of a stored procedure. I'm using the
Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.DatabaseFactory, NOT the ODT.NET
library (please don't ask why).
Thanks,
Randy

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
