Sometimes users are reporting that they receive a FileLoadException error
saying that access to a dll is denied. This has occured after strong naming
my dlls for my web apps, and it seems to be occuring intermittently. This
is the fusion log entry, and I am confused:
*** Assembly Binder Log Entry (1/4/2005 @ 9:20:51 AM) ***
The operation failed.
Bind result: hr = 0x80070005. Access is denied.

I just installed my ASP.NET app on a Win 2k server. I installed the files in
a folder on D: and setup a virtual directory in IIS Default web.
We had to install the Framework 1.1 and SP on this computer. When I attempt
to run this app I get the error mentioned above. I granted ASPNET access to
the folder on D: with Read & Execute, List Folder Contents and Read
permissions. The Direcory Security for this app is set as Anonymous access,

Deploying ASP.NET web sites to Windows 2003 Server a Nightmare!
You finished implementing a ASP.NET web site and
then comes the really painful part, you have to deploy it.
And to make things worse there is not any useful documentation.
Manually setting filesystem permissions on same platforms
for ASPNET, or IUSR_<MACHINE>, or to NETWORK SERVICE accounts.
Settings security policies, running aspnet_regiis -i once in a while,
setting the...

When I try to run an ASP.NET 2.0 application on my Windows 2000 SP4 computer
with IIS 5.0 installed, I receive the following message:
Failed to execute the request because the ASP.NET process identity does not
have read permissions to the global assembly cache. Error: 0x80070005 Access
is denied.
Why does it need access to the GAC?
Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Hi;
I created a virtual directory in IIS 6.0 and my asp.net app runs fine. But
when it tries to write a file I get:
Access to the path is denied. - C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\RunReportASP\images
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\RunReportASP is the directory of my virtual directory for
my app. In it's properties I did check "Write" as a permission.
What else do I need to do?

Hi,
I try to develop a localized Asp.Net 1.1 application. I have added two
resource files to my app, which are called 'Labels.resx' and
'Labels.de.resx'. If I compile the app, I see a 'de' subfolder in my
'bin' folder and the folder contains the resource dll.
Accessing the german strings does not work. After a lot of debugging I
managed to get fuslogvw.exe to work and got a result like this:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
