What framework version am I running?

jib
In any of my projects, reviewing the properties of say the System.Web
reference, reveals that its path points to

C:\WINNT\Micros oft.NET\Framewo rk\v1.0.3705\Sy stem.Web.dll.

(suggesting Framework V1.0) However, when I look at how my IIS is
configured for .ASPX files, it points to

C:\WINNT\Micros oft.NET\Framewo rk\v1.1.4322\as pnet_isapi.dll

which suggests Framework version 1.1 instead. Sooh, why this
difference and what exactly am I running?

Try running this free tool to see what version a given Web is using:

Thanks - thats a rather handy little utility. Looks like I am running V1.1,
I guess
I simply don't understand why the reference in VS.NET appears to refer to
V1.0.

Hi Jib,

Not sure either, but at least Denis' tool makes it possible to tell what the
Web thinks it is using.

You might want to look in the various Solution and Project files to see if
they give any hints.

I have installed Visual Studio .Net 2003 on top of an earlier version. Now, when I open a new project I get a message that says Visual Studio .NET has detected that the web server is running ASP.NET version 1.0 ... it goes on to say that I can create the project to be compliant with version 1.0 but that the application will not be able to use the newer features of ASP .NET 1.1. Now, having installed VS .Net 2003 I understand that I have...

I know I drilled down into the Windows folder\Microsoft.net\Framework\v1.1.4322 folder and looked at the version of Mscorcfg.dll to get the SP level from the version number: Mine shows v1.1.4322.573 which is supposed to be 1.1 with no service packs.

I've been struggling with this thing for 2 days, and after searching the 'net for help, I cannot find what is wrong. We're using Crystal Reports XI Release 2, with Visual Studio .NET 2003 in an ASP.NET 1.1 application. I've got a CrystralReportsViewer control on an ASP.NET page. Once the page gets hit I get the following error message (this is running on my development machine):

I have a VB6 application that references a few .Net 1.1 components, and one 2.0 component. Does that mean that all will be running under 2.0? Is there any way to force the 1.1 pieces to run under 1.1, and the 2.0 to run under 2.0? I know about setting a config file to force a certain framework, but I think that is only good for the entire application. Thanks

Hi all, I have .NET framework 1.1 and 2.0 installed in the same server. I had some web pages developed in Visual Studio.NET 2003 and some inline code web pages before (framework 1.1) . Now I start some web pages from Visual Studio.NET 2005 (framework 2.0). Can I set some virtual directories work for 1.1 and some for 2.0 ? If so, please give me a hint. I don't want to convert the old pages from 1.1 into 2.0. Please advise. Thank...

I am developing in VS '03. I have all of the current framework versions installed on my PC, 1.1, 2.0, and 3.0. How can I make sure the code I am developing in is using the 3.0 framework version? Or do I need to be using the latest version of Visual Studio to do so? Thanks,

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
