JScript: check if a string contains unicode characters

Hi,
I need to check if a string contains unicode characters, and generate
an alert if it does. (I do not want to parse the string to unicode).
Anyone who knows how to do this?

Thanks! :D

all javascript string are unicode. you can use the charCodeAt() method to
check the range of the character.

PEP 263 is marked finished in the PEP index, however I haven't seen the specified Phase 2 in the list of changes for 2.4 which is when I expected it. Did phase 2 get cancelled, or is it just not in the changes document? John Roth

Hello I've browsed the FAQ but apparently it lacks any questions concenring wide character strings. I'd like to calculate the length of a multibyte string without converting the whole string. Zygmunt PS: The whole multibyte string vs wide character string concept is broken IMHO since it allows wchar_t not to be large enough to contain a full character (rendering both types virtually the same). What's the point of

Hi All I have a com dll written in VB6 (it's a User Function Library for my crystal reports - this allows me to write custom functions for Crystal which can be applied in Crystal formulas - none of this is relevant to the problem though (((I think)))). Anyway, the VB dll has one method that takes a string as an argument and returns a string. It passes the string arg to a C# library which is where the problem lies. The string arg...

I have not been able to find a simple, straight forward Unicode to ASCII string conversion function in VB.Net. Is that because such a function does not exists or do I overlook it? I found Encoding.Convert, but that needs byte arrays. Thanks, /Ger

Hi If I use len() on a string containing unicode letters I get the number of bytes the string uses. This means that len() can report size 6 when the unicode string only contains 3 characters (that one would write by hand or see on the screen). Is there a way to calculate in characters and not in bytes to represent the characters. The reason for asking is that PyGTK needs number of characters to set the width of Entry widgets to a...

Hi there, I believe all strings in .net are unicode by default, I am looking for a way to remove all non ascii characters from a string (or optionally replace them). There is an article on code project which kind of looks like it does what I want but I can't help thinking it makes it more complex than it needs to be.

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
