HttpSessionStat e.Abandon cancels the current session, but I'd rather use the
standard session management (HttpSessionSta te.Timeout).

I have a site that works fine for days, then suddenly, I start getting ASP 0115 errors with an indication that session variables IN SEPARATE SESSIONS have disappeared! First, for background information, I have a customized 500-100 page that sends the value of various session variables via email to my support site. The situation: On the...

Hello, I am looking for solution to assign the Session.onEnd event handler dynamically, at runtime, without using global.asax file. I am a bit sceptic wether that is possible, however I thought maybe it is possible to have a global.asax file with Session_onEnd method, that merely calls some delegate, and that delegate is assigned by my web...

I've got an ASP.NET application and I need some information on every page like the user's name as well as a collection listing which sections of the application the user has access to. I could store the user name in a regular session variable but the collection varies in size based on the user and could grow in the future as the application...

I would like to record user behavior data stored in session variables. Since the data is modified throughout each session it seemed obvious to store the data when the session terminates - using Session_End in global.asax. Problem is, apparently the session-object terminating cannot be accessed from Session_End in global.asax!? What's...

Hi, Is it possible to read from a Session object in one of the Global.asax events? I'm wondering, since I'm not sure if there is one instance of Global.asax running per app or one for each request. Thank you. Regards,

Hi, I'm trying to get away from using global.asax for reasons of 'neatness'. Am I able to register a HTTPModule that captures the starting of a user session? Isn't Session_Start an event in global.asax? ... and isn't global.asax exposing events of HttpApplication? What am I missing?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
