I've got a problem concerning Server.Execute and the viewstate. It's
not a ViewStateMacEnabled=false problem as it happens - less of a
problem and more a question of 'is it possible'. I've got a main aspx
page which houses the layout html, and executes another .aspx file
using Server.Execute, this is then fed to a writer and finally
Response.Write'n.
My problem comes when putting a <form runat="server"> inside the child
page (the one to...

Hi everyone,
I have a quick question that I hope someone can help me with:
I've made a user control that contains a text box and some validation
functionality. This control has a few extra properties declared on it over
and above that provided by the textbox.
As I understand it, part of the process to make this work is, in the
property accessor's for the properties that you wish to persist you add

Hi,
I appear to have a problem where the user is not kicked back to the
forms authentictation url when they post a webform, via a get, that
results in a long url due to viewstate. Instead they get the error at
the end of the post
Web.Config:
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms path = "/" loginUrl = "View/Login.aspx" timeout="1"

I have a user control that contains three variables which are accessed through public properties. They are declared immediately below the "Web Form Designer Generated Code" section. Every time an event is fired by one of the controls contained in the User Control, these variable are reset. Here is my current code (I have a little more to add later, right now I am just concerned about the variables getting reset):

Greetings!
I have a UserControl. On this UserControl is a Panel and a
RadioButtonList. The Panel's Visible property is set to false by
default. When the user selects a particular RadioButtonList value, a
postback is performed and the Panel's Visible property is set to true.
Selecting a different RadioButtonList value sets the Visible property
to false again.
So far, so good. It does, in fact, do this.

I have an app that was originally 1.1, now migrated to 2.0 and have run into
some sporadic viewstate errors...usually saying the viewstate is invalid,
eventvalidation failed or mac error.
My web config does specify a machinekey setting:

Hey All,
I have some classes that I recently built for a website which uses the
HttpWebRequest & HttpWebResponse objects from the System.Net namespace.
Basically, the classes rap submitted data up, connect to external websites
on external servers and post / remove the data from these other sites.
It works fine locally but when uploaded to the BCentral production server,
the outgoing requests get shutdown.

Hi,
I'm having a problem with viewstate encryption on one of my websites. To
encrypt the viewstate, I'm using the following lines in my web.Config file:
<pages theme="Default" viewStateEncryptionMode="Always"
enableViewStateMac="true"></pages>
<machineKey validationKey="AutoGenerate,IsolateApps"
decryptionKey="AutoGenerate,IsolateApps"

Hi all,
Hope someone can help with this - I am tearing my hair (singular) out.
I developed an application using asp.net 2.0 and Mobile Controls. Up till now I have been testing it with a Pocket PC which runs a version of Internet Explorer.
I'm trying to use the application now on a Samsung SGH-F700W which uses a web browser called NetFront 3.3 (this is being supplied by Vodafone in the UK as their answer to the iPhone).
On several...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
