Debug ASP.NET Project

I am trying to debug a simple asp.net project using
Visual Studio.net(2002 ) and receive the following error:

Error while tring to run project. Unable to start
debugging on the web server. Catastrophic failure. Would
you like to disable future attempts to debug ASP.NET
pages for this project?

I am running windows 2000. I looked up this error in the
support section and found the error but without
the "catastroph ic failure". I tried to fix it with the
suggestions for the first part of the error to no avail.
HELP if anyone knows whats wrong here,

Thanks,
Angel

I looked at the site went through the various reasons
tried to change according to the various messages and
still got the same error.

"Error while tring to run project. Unable to start
debugging on the web server. Catastrophic failure. Would
you like to disable future attempts to debug ASP.NET
pages for this project?"

On this site it does NOT HAVE this particular error
listed. What is wrong here? Thanks for the help

ok, do you have IIS running on the webserver? you check thru IIS management.
In addition, verify that your debug verb is set to true in the webconfig
file. See if these two suggestions make a difference.

Yes IIS is running(checked it in Services and its
management screen) and in the webconfig file contains the
debug="true". I do not know what is going on. I installed
VS.net, selected a new vb webproject, placed a server
side textbox on the webpage and ran the debug, simple
enough and I get this error message. HELP!!! Thanks for
your quick response on this matter.

Hi, I am running v1.1.4322 on Win2K server and unable to debug a ASP.Net application running locally, using a full URL (ie www.mysite.com). When I hit F5, I get the following error message: <debugger_error_message> Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server. The project is not configured to be debugged.

I'm starting up the development server myself and using the "Startup Url" property of the web project. The problem is i cannot debug. The debug symbols are never loaded. I realize they are under the temporary internet files folder but I have even tried using the new depoloyment addin-in but that does not seem to work either. There is a /bin folder with the debug symboles in there but it still does not load them up How can i include the...

Hello, In VS2003, I used to have two solutions - a debug and release solution. Each solution had a webservice project and several other class library projects. The webservice project referenced all the other class library projects (i.e. so that it used the dll created when those other projects were built). The debug solution was configured so that all the projects in it had debug

I am having trouble getting debug and release builds to work properly with project references using C++ .NET and Visual Studio 2003. I created a test solution, with a basic Windows form C++ project. I then add a class library, and add a reference to this project in the first project. When I do a release build, I see the following in the output from the DLL compile: /OUT:"C:\Documents and Settings\Andrew\My Documents\Visual Studio

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
