Does anyone know of a tool that can automate code migration from a
staging server to a production server. As a developer I only have
rights to migrate to staging and I would like a tool that could help
automate the delivery of code from a staging to production scenario.

Does anyone have suggesstions for ASP.NET deployment best practices. This is
in the context of a large organization where developers do not have admin
access to web servers. The idea of buliding msi packages for each deploy
seems difficult to implement because the server admins do not have the time
to constantly be running msi's and moving applications between environments.

time i make changes? all the files only? what about the
dll in the bin directory? if i copy the dll file do i also
have to copy the aspx and aspx.vb files?

Curious as to how you all have chosen to deploy/publish your asp.net apps.
Currently though we have a local dev environment, then we stage to a QA
server then we publish/deploy.
In previous jobs I've always used straight xcopy to publish to production
(usually via the Copy Project option in VS.Net). The way I understand it,

We successfully deployed our web application into our staging
environment using the regular installer generated by web setup project
of visual studio 2005. Apparently, we have issues that need to be
resolved and then deploy the fixes. Our problem is our installer will
delete everything we have in our staging environment and then install
the new version. Is there any other way to do incremental deployment in

environements (Dev, Test, staging and production). The IT people need
wgenever a new MSI delivered to have the right environment keys in there
sections and not the dev machines web config. What I mean by that I don't
