ASP Session Variable Info missing after accessing ASPX

I have a mix web site, ASP and ASPX files.
I have assigned a value to Session("Date") and the href to
an ASPX page. When I further href to another ASP Page. The
content in Session("Date") becoming blank. Is it in
design? Or bug? Is there any work around solution?

Also, Is there any way to secure my ASPX source code from
client? I don't want clients to be able to see the source
code but they can run the ASPX.

Thanks

Are you initially setting Session("Date") in ASP or ASPX? Session variables
don't automatically pass from ASP and ASPX pages in the same application.
(If this is what you're trying to do - take a look at
http://www.sessionbridge.com. It's a utility to help with this.)

If you're setting it in an ASP page, navigating to an ASPX page, and then
going to another ASP page - the session variable set on the first page
should still be available as long as your timeout hasn't expired. By having
ASP and ASPX in the same application, the client has 1 session with ASP and
another session with ASPX. This shouldn't be any different than navigating
to a page on another site and then back to yours (again, as long as the
timeout hasn't expired).

As far as securing the ASPX, if you use "code-behind" pages - that code is
compiled into the DLL and only your HTML is in the ASPX file.

I'm having a problem saving session information on one form and retrieving it on a subsequent form...for only one out of a number of users. Actually, I'm not absolutely certain it's a session problem but I'm hoping the experts can help me figure that out. Our application uses a session variable to "pass" info from one form to the next. It has always worked fine for our users until a few weeks ago when one of our users started having a...

Hello, I am trying to develop a book tracking application for my capstone in school, and am running into a problem. The application is an ASP.Net application written in C#. The first page you go to is a login form, which will set several session variables with the name used to log in, appropriate security level and some other misc variables, and then will go to a main menu for each particular security level using Server.Transfer. ...

I have a problem, mentioned here before, of Session and Application variables disappearing at one site but not at others or on my development computer. The problem is illustrated by an example at http://www.lamartin.com/dotnet/sessiontestset.aspx, were I set Session, Application and Cache variables on the first page and then on the second page view them as the second page is refreshed every five seconds. Before 10 refreshes, the...

Hi Patrick! Can you give an example of how to use a frameset inside an aspx-file? When I create a new frameset in Visual Studio.Net it just gives me a htm-File. Or give me a link where I can find one? Thanks Werner P.S. Somehow I did not manage to do a followup in Googles newsgroups.

I'm calling the session object from an inherited page. The page is based off an herited class which outputs XML. Does anyone know why the session object would be nothing? httpcontext.current.request/response/etc all work, except for session. Thanks. --

Hi, I've got a web-app thats activated by a call to a aspx page from ASP, I need to go back to the ASP session and get some simple data saved in that session. I have no possiblity to do session sharing through Sql server or file ect, but I think I'm able to get the ASP session ID as a parameter on the initial call of the aspx page (without this I guess there's no way for sure)

We are in the process of testing a large web project that I converted from VS 2003 to VS 2005. Everything seems to be working except for a few minor things. But the main issue I have is this, I have about 5 or 6 developers testing this web site in a staging environment on a Microsoft 2003 Server box. We have a base page that gets called on every page and checks for session variables. After about 20 - 30 minutes these session variables are...

I am an amatuer asp.net programmer so I hope this question isn't to dumb. I am having difficulty with my understanding of session state. I have an application that stores some values in the session and then I use the following code to try and get a stream of image data. mypage.aspx has a different session ID then the calling page. I tried to use a relative URI but the getresponse said it couldn't use a relative uri. I've looked at...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
