How to Merge Fields Using ASP

Resepected Sir,
My Question is
Per Suppose Iam Writing An Email When iam writing the email if i write
per suppose Dear $$ the first name that is stored in the database should be substituted and Persuppose if i write respected $$ it should be substitued where ever

we have option buttons like search button,showall button,selectall to selectall the checkboxs and to see the selected records. if i press the button of send email it will give alert message select the company name to send email
then we will select the checkbox and press the sendmail button .in that mail page we have text boxes like from ,subject Message .in that message box
my Question is How to MergeFields like firstname and lastname
Persuppose if iam sending mail to 20 persons i cannot write the name in every
part per suppose if i write dear $$ it should replaced by firstname in database
etc.
