Gazing into my crystal ball I observed rob <ro*@pleaseremovespamcherny.com>
writing in news:-Z********************@giganews.com:
Hey,
Has anyone seen a good solution for Search Engine Safe URLs with Classic
ASP? I've been looking for a while and short of using the 404 or
installing tool on the server I was hoping there might be something else.
In ColdFusion you can do a server.com/myfile.cfm/id/410 and it just
works ... (well, after you parse the slashes)
Thanks,
:rob
AFAIK, the only thing to worry about is id, eg:
http://www.example.com/somepage.asp?id=123
If you're using semantic markup, and you're separating content from
presentation and javascript enhancements are in an external file, you
should be fine.
BTW, you really should use example.com as that domain has been established
just for that purpose, unless, of course, you ARE <http://www.server.com>.
