MFC ActiveX Self Register

Hello... I am developing a MFC ActiveX that I want to self register
when IE promts to Install it.

I have added the VALUE "OLESelfRegiste r", "\0" to activex's resource
file (.rc) and I have STDAPI DllRegisterServ er(void) method in my
code.

When I build my ActiveX project, the ActiveX is registered fine and it
work on my machine. If I added to a .cab file(cabarc -s 6144 N
myactivex.cab myactivex.ocx myactivex.inf myactivex) and then sign
it(signtool sign /a myactivex.cab) and I try to display the page from
OTHER machine in my local network, I get a dialog that is asking me if
I want to install it or not.I click install but the ActiveX is not
displayed.

The object tag is :

object id="MyActiveX1 " width="655" height="347" codebase='../../
Applets/myactivex.cab'
classid="CLSID: 069B70F6-47F4-4b0a-
B08D-73A9F2F2EB36">
<param name="_Version" value="65536">
<param name="_ExtentX" value="2646">
<param name="_ExtentY" value="1323">
<param name="_StockPro ps" value="0">
<span style="color: Red; font:
18">ActiveX control failed to load! (Use Internet Explorer
only!)
<br />
Please check browser security
settings.</span>
</objectand the inf file is :

[Add.Code]
myactivex.ocx=m yactivex.ocx
myactivex.inf=m yactivex.inf

[myactivex.ocx]
file-win32-x86=thiscab
clsid={069B70F6-47F4-4b0a-B08D-73A9F2F2EB36}
RegisterServer= yes
FileVersion=1,0 ,0,1

[myactivex.inf]
file-win32-x86=thiscab

I am forgeting something?

Thanks!

I am going to outline the steps I go through to produce the problem. Hopefully this will help you understand the problem better I have created a simple COM DLL in .NET by using the COM class template and by setting output to a type library (DLL). All the object does is return a string value. At this point I have not checked the option to register for COM interop in Visual Studio So I go into Excel (where I want to use the object). Go to VB...

Hi, How can I create a setup project for the VS2005 application that has an ActiveX control? I added an ActiveX control to the local folder (set CopyLocal property to True) and then created the Setup project. Will it register an ActiveX on the target machine or I have to do it manually. Hi Every body, I am currently working in aproject where I am stuck in merging an ActiveX control (*.ocx) file into a managed Class Library (*.dll). I want to hide the ActiveX Control in this managed Dll, so that even when things are deployed I don't wanna see two files, but only 1 file which is the dll, and it would contain within it, the other ocx file. Is this possible? If yes, then how can I do something like this, I tried to use...

I know I can make an ActiveX dll in .NET and it uses interop. So I end up with 2 files, the .dll and the interop file. I also know I need to use Regasm or something like that to register the .dll as a COM object. Am I right so far? lets say I create a VB6 app and want to use the .NET dll. Does the installer of the VB6 app have to register the .NET dll by calling Regasm or can the VB6 app call it directly the first time it runs.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
